The duo added fuel to the fire with a new post on April 16, which featured Brooks holding up a sign to show his support for his rumored girlfriend.
“Vote for Bae,” the sign said, with the “bae” crossed out and “RAE” written in big letters next to it. There were also red hearts drawn on the poster. Rae posted the photo of Brooks holding up the sign on her Instagram Story and captioned it, “He said he would still vote for me.”

While Brooks and Rae haven’t explicitly confirmed the dating rumors, speculation started when fans began noticing their comments to one another on Instagram over the last few months. Before the April 13 episode, the buzz intensified when Brooks posted an intimate video of them singing a duet together.
The comments section of that post became flooded with comments from fans who were wondering if something was going on between the two singers. There was also a conversation on Reddit about the rumored relationship, and a new thread titled “Brooks and Rae dating confirmed?”, emerged with the newest post, with the original poster writing, “There’s been a lot of hints lately about Brooks and Rae being a couple and she just posted this. I think they’re really cute together.”
“I’d stan it. They’d be good together,” one Reddit user wrote, while someone else jumped in to say, “IVE BEEN SAYING THIS.” Someone else claimed to have witnessed them together at bars in Towson, Maryland, before the American Idol Live Shows began in March. Rae and Brooks are both from Maryland, so this tracks.
Brooks is now one of nine artists left in the competition. On the April 20 episode, he and the other contestants will be singing Disney songs in hopes of getting votes from viewers. The two singers with the lowest amount of votes will be eliminated.
