This season of 90 Day: The Single Life, there’s been one question on everyone’s mind: Why would Cortney Reardanz let Colt Johnson back into her life (even as a friend!) after he cheated on her with Diana? Now, she’s spilled the truth on social media.
During Season 5 of the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff, Cortney and Colt, who first connected on 90 Day: Hunt for Love, explored their relationship back home at Cortney’s parents’ house in Orlando. A few episodes into the season, Cortney learned that Colt was “sexting” and sending nudes to a woman named Diana in Brazil while living with her.
Calling things off for good, she told him, “You’re homeless. You’re jobless. You have erectile dysfunction. You have a broken leg. I’m your caregiver. I’m your best friend. I’m loving you, but you’re telling another girl you love her.” He then traveled to Brazil to be with Diana, and Cortney connected with her now-boyfriend, 66-year-old Phil. Even so, when Colt returned to the States, Cortney allowed him to move in with her and her new boyfriend in his house, much to the dismay of 90 Day fans.

So why’d she give him a second (thousandth) chance? As she put it during a recent Instagram Q&A, “I didn’t trust him & questioned if it was all just manipulation. But I do know: he needed surgery/didn’t have anyone in the US. I didn’t want him to be permanently disabled or have that guilt.”
Ultimately, it came down to the fact that she strives to help others, not just Colt. She wrote, “I try to treat others the way I want to be treated. In life, you need to help others when you can.”
When it comes to what she saw in Colt specifically, Cortney spilled, “He came to support me when I was sad at the retreat [Hunt for Love]. Then he fell and broke his leg, leaving my room. So I felt responsible/guilt. We bonded when I was taking care of him.”
Could this jeopardize Cortney’s relationship with Phil heading into the Tell All? Only time will tell!
