What To Know

  • Kim Wolfe recently returned to HGTV to compete on Season 7 of Rock the Block.
  • Wolfe exclusively opened up about how her husband and three kids supported her return to the small screen.
  • She also opened up about watching Survivor with her family for the first time since she was on the show.

Kim Wolfe is back on HGTV after previously stepping away from the network to prioritize her family life.

After rising to fame on Survivor, Wolfe hosted the HGTV series Why the Heck Did I Buy This House?, which ran for two seasons from 2022 to 2024. In an interview with the San Antonio Express-News last year, Wolfe confirmed that she “officially said no” to doing a third season of the show, explaining, “I feel like there are so many years where my kids will be gone and I can try and do all kinds of things. But this time is so limited with them…. Especially [if] I’m focused on making homes for other people and simultaneously neglecting my own.”

Last month, Wolfe returned to HGTV to compete alongside Chelsea Meissner on Season 7 of Rock the Block. The decision to do another home renovation show, Wolfe said, was made with the full support of her husband, Bryan, and their three kids.

“They’ve supported me beautifully,” she exclusively told Swooon while chatting about her latest partnership with Wayfair. “We spent a lot of time making sure that we were ready for me to go back and film another show, and everybody was on board and supportive. And it feels good to have a family that supports me going and having these adventures, and they’re the best. So, I couldn’t do it without them.”

Wolfe and her husband have been married since 2013. The couple became parents with the birth of their eldest child, son Michael, in 2014, followed by their daughter, August, and younger son, Walt, in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Though Wolfe enjoyed her Rock the Block experience, she has no intentions of returning to HGTV as the full-time star of a show. However, she’s “always game” to stop by another design competition show.

“I cannot ever again see myself doing a major home renovation show where I’m kind of bearing the brunt of the responsibility of pulling a show off,” she explained. “There’s just so many parts that go into it that you don’t even see or think about. But shows like Rock The Block are a blast, and they are finite, and it was one house. And so, I’m always game for an adventure, if it fits into my life as a mom.”

Just as her family supported her while filming Rock the Block, they are all currently supporting her Survivor family by tuning in to the show’s milestone 50th season. As it turns out, this season marks the first time Wolfe has watched the show since she was on Winners at War back in 2020.

“My kids were 3, 4, 5. And so, now they are 10, 11, and 12, and [they hadn’t] seen one episode, and we have watched every single episode,” she revealed. “I have to say, I am rooting for Cirie [Fields]. I can’t help it. I love her so much. I always have, and nothing would be better to me than for her to pull out the win. I don’t know if it’s possible, but it would be amazing.”
