Bridgerton‘s future remains bright as Netflix renewed the series for Seasons 5 and 6, with Season 4 set to arrive in 2026. But it also has left us wondering: Will there be more spinoffs or specials?
Along with Bridgerton Seasons 1 through 3, Shondaland also delivered the well-received prequel spinoff, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Could another one-off season or story loom on the horizon? We certainly hope so. Whether it’s about the Bridgerton siblings, side characters, or prequel stories, we’re more than ready to further immerse ourselves in the Regency era romance that accompanies this world inspired by Julia Quinn’s books.
While Netflix and Shondaland haven’t announced any additional projects beyond the ongoing Bridgerton flagship series, we’re keeping hope alive that the universe could expand. And as fan buzz about a long-wanted Edmund-Violet prequel series continues, we can’t help but imagine the possibilities that Bridgerton could explore.
Below, we’re breaking down several spinoff and special ideas we’d like to see become a reality in the Bridgerton universe. Scroll down for a closer look, and let us know in the comments which spinoffs you’d like to see.

Violet & Edmund's Love Story
Viewers of Bridgerton are constantly reminded of how wonderful the family patriarch, Edmund (Rupert Evans), was when he was alive, and how beautiful his and Violet’s (Ruth Gemmell) love story was. But beyond the man’s death scene in Season 2, we’ve never really had a chance to see that love for ourselves. Quinn has penned a story about Violet and Edmund’s courtship, meaning there’s definitely source material to pluck from for a series, but only time will tell. If they were to do a prequel, we’d imagine Connie Jenkins-Greig would reprise the role of Young Violet after playing her in Queen Charlotte.

A Bridgerton Family Holiday Special
Christmas with the Bridgertons has a nice ring to it, right? While every season mostly focuses on the marriage mart and social season, it would be nice to catch a glimpse of the titular family around the holidays. While that wouldn’t necessitate a full season of episodes, an hour-long special would be quite lovely. It would also be fun to see which Ton members might be part of the festivities. With the Featheringtons being a part of the family now, we can only imagine the comedic scenarios that could ensue from a Christmastime gathering.

Lady Danbury Prequel
Sure, we saw Lady Danbury’s (Arsema Thomas) rise to prominence begin in Queen Charlotte, but it would be interesting to see her journey in the years between that period and the current timeline unfolding in Bridgerton. A prequel spinoff would give actors from Queen Charlotte a chance to reprise their roles, as well as introduce us to some new faces, surely. In simple terms, we’d like to learn more about Lady Danbury’s rise to becoming the Ton’s coolest lady.

Kate & Anthony in India
Sending Kate (Simone Ashley) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) off to India is a good explanation for why the characters aren’t as present in the seasons proceeding theirs, but perhaps a one-off episode or special offering fans a glimpse into the couple’s life abroad would be a fun way to expand the universe and its borders beyond the Ton. Considering Ashley and Bailey’s rising stars outside of the franchise, this concept could be a fun way to keep them in the franchise with less of a time commitment for the actors.

The Featheringtons
The Featherington family has been incorporated into the main storylines from Bridgerton, but we have yet to see inside the lives of Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) sisters, Philippa (Harriet Cains) and Prudence (Bessie Carter). If the Featherington family had their own limited spinoff series, it could add even more depth to the family and offer a potential path to further strengthen Penelope’s bond with her mom, Portia (Polly Walker), and sisters.

Brimsley & Reynolds Follow-Up
We got a taste of the romance between the Queen and King’s secretaries, but between the past timeline and current timeline, it was left in question whether Reynolds (Freddie Dennis) was still alive or not after Brimsley (Hugh Sachs) was seen dancing alone during a quiet moment. In the past, Reynolds and Brimsley (Sam Clemmett) had a sweet relationship; a follow-up on clarifying what happened would certainly be nice. If not a full show, then perhaps a single special would be fun.

Downstairs in the Ton
As we gear up for the love story between Sophie (Yerin Ha) and Benedict (Luke Thompson) in Season 4, we’re also preparing for a closer look into the downstairs life of the Ton. Why should it begin and end with Season 4’s love story? A fun concept would be to follow the staff at the Ton’s big estates as they observe society’s top-tier members from a different perspective.
