Celebrity Breakups of 2025: All the Couples Who’ve Called It Quits So Far
From a Hollywood power couple split to a low-key breakup, the year 2025 isn’t going to be the best year for some stars.
Criminal Minds: Evolution and Friday Night Lights star Zach Gilford is the latest celebrity to call it quits with their partner. The actor filed for divorce from his wife, Kiele Sanchez, in April 2025 after 12 years of marriage.
Gilford’s split certainly wasn’t the first breakup of 2025 and won’t be the last. The year started out with some bombshell breakups, including Hollywood shining stars Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber. Jessica Alba confirmed her breakup from Cash Warren in a January 16 Instagram post, and then officially filed for divorce less than one month later. Superstar couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez also headed down that same path and became a divorced duo in February 2025.
Shocking Bachelor Nation favorites Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James shocked everyone when they split after four years of dating. Below Deck Sailing Yacht‘s Daisy Kelliher and Keith Allen also called it quits. Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko ended their post-Dancing With the Stars fling in April. Later that month, it was confirmed that Rami Malek and Emma Corrin broke up after two years together.

Zach Gilford & Kiele Sanchez
Zach Gilford filed for divorce from Kiele Sanchez on April 18, according to TMZ. He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split. The actor did not list an official date of separation.
The former couple married in 2012. They have two children, Zeppelin and Revel, and Gilford is asking for joint legal and physical custody.
Gilford and Sanchez met while filming the TV movie Matadors. The Friday Night Lights alum currently plays serial killer Elias Volt on Criminal Minds: Evolution, and Sanchez notably played his wife in a recurring role.
Emma Corrin & Rami Malek
Emma Corrin and Rami Malek, who were first linked after they were spotted together in July 2023, split in April, according to People.
Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko split in April, multiple outlets confirmed. The couple started dating after being partnered on Dancing With the Stars in the fall of 2024, but the relationship eventually fizzled out.
Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez
It’s official, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are divorced.
The couple who shocked everyone by getting back together in 2021, 20 years after they first met on the set of Gigli, wed fast after their romantic rekindling.
Originally a couple from 2002 to 2004, they tied the knot in 2022. Their love story was, however, not meant to last and the superstar duo separated in April 2024. In August Lopez filed for divorce.
Affleck and Lopez married without a prenup but were quick to divide their assets. The judge granted their divorce request on January 6, 2025, but it didn’t go into action until February 20.
Jessica Alba and Cash Warren
After 16 years of marriage, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have decided to separate, TMZ first reported. The two have been candid about the state of their relationship in the years prior. Alba had even compared them to “roommates.”
Talking to Katherine Schwarzenegger on her podcast BDA Baby, the Honey star opened up, “We used to do every Wednesday we’re going to do date night or every week we’re gonna set aside a time—we’re gonna at least do date night, right? We won’t have our phones, and we’ll just like talk. But then that stopped because whatever, and so we’re just not consistent.” Alba and Warren share three kids together: Honor, Haven, and Hayes.
On January 16, Alba confirmed the separation reports by posting a statement to her Instagram. “I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash. I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
She continued, “We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family,” added Alba. “Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time.”
Less than a month later, the actress filed for divorce on February 7. She listed the date of separation as December 27, 2024, and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, according to PEOPLE.
David Harbour and Lily Allen
Harbour and Allen have split after almost five years of marriage. “Her marriage has been crumbling,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively, “and they have split.” The couple got married in Las Vegas back in 2020. Allen’s daughters, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper, were in attendance.
Angelina Pivarnick and Vinny Tortorella
The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation alums have parted ways. In a pretty volatile breakup, the two are now accusing each other of cheating. Angelina Pivarnick and Vinny Tortorella had been together for three years prior to their split. They were even engaged, yet it wasn’t made to last.
During the show’s Season 7B’s reunion, Pivarnick claimed, “We’re currently filming for another season, and [I] found out he cheated on me.”
Pivarnick called him a “clout chaser.” She added, “He just wanted to be on TV. He didn’t care about anything that had to do with me.”
Tortorella, on his end, defended himself on Instagram by stating that it was actually Pivarnick who was the unfaithful one. He had previously already said that she crossed a boundary in a comment, “I made a hinge 2 weeks after breaking off my relationship after I found out I got cheated on again.”
Daisy Kelliher & Keith Allen
Appearing as a guest on Watch What Happens Live With Any Cohen, Daisy Kelliher crushed all of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht fandom’s hope that she and chief stew Keith Allen are still an item.
Candidly speaking out, she stated, “It wasn’t ever very serious.” She continued, “We were in each other’s lives for a year and, unfortunately, it ended because of distance.”
Allen stayed in the Caribbean for work while Kelliher relocated to London. The deckhand even revealed that they never even officially entered the relationship phase. She called what they had a “situationship.”
Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James
In one of Bachelor Nation’s most dramatic splits to date, Matt James announced his split from his season of The Bachelor‘s winner, Rachael Kirkconnell, in an uncharacteristic Instagram post. Unlike many other pairing coming out of the franchise, they were not engaged.
Kirkconnell was on a plane from Japan to Atlanta at the time, unable to respond to the bombshell news. The couple were together for four years.
The 28-year-old told Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy that she was mainly upset that she wasn’t able to grieve in private. She also revealed that the couple never lived together throughout their relationship.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson
After 10 years of marriage, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have decided to go in different directions.
The “Irresistible” singer shared in a statement to Entertainment Tonight, “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage.”
She continued. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
Prior to the news, the two were last spotted together during a family spring break trip to Mexico in April 2024. Since then, Simpson and Johnson have been seen without their wedding rings. Over the course of their marriage, the former couple welcomed three kids together, Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5. Jessica was previously married to Nick Lachey.
Kaia Gerber & Austin Butler
Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler did not ring in the new year together. They reportedly split in late 2024. Their breakup was announced by TMZ on January 7, 2025.
The two were first spotted at a yoga studio in December 2021 in Los Angeles and made their red carpet debut just three months later in March 2022 at W Magazine‘s annual Best Performances party. Since then, the couple was often spotted attending public events together.
The supermodel was there during Butler’s Elvis run. They had been in a relationship for three years. During that time, Gerber started taking her acting career more seriously with roles in Saturday Night, Bottoms, and Palm Royale. Gerber and Butler had a 10-year age gap.
Naomi Osaka & Cordae
There’s “no bad blood at all,” between Naomi Osaka and ex-Cordae, the tennis star posted on her social media to announce their split on Monday, January 6.
The former couple share a daughter, Shai, who was born in July 2023. After that, Osaka took a 15-month break from tennis. Back on the field, the 27-year-old recently decided to withdraw from Australian Open.
Furthermore, Osaka wrote, “He’s a great person and an awesome dad.” She added, “Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together.” The four-time Grand Slam winner ended her post with a heart emoji. Osaka and rapper Cordae had been in a relationship since 2019.
Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford
After over two decades of love, Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford have decided to go their separate ways. The couple made things official in 2007 and welcomed son, Leo James, in 2012.
At the start of the new year, Ford decided to file for divorce. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split,” according to PEOPLE. In the documents, the True Blood alum wanted joint legal and physical custody as well as spousal support.
