The doctors, nurses, police officers, firefighters, and paramedics across Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. are often too preoccupied with saving lives to do much else, but they always find time for love.
Since One Chicago‘s inception with Chicago Fire in 2012, the universe has explored so many incredible love stories between the beloved characters. Most of them have found love at work, and we have to give NBC credit for making One Chicago the home of the workplace romance.
Now that Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) finallytied the knot in the Chicago P.D. Season 12 finale, Swooon decided it was time to look back at other One Chicago weddings and rank them. From classic church nuptials to saying “I do” on a boat, One Chicago keeps us on our toes when it comes to romance.

9. Halstead & Upton
The Upstead wedding just… happened. It was barely a blip on the Chicago P.D. radar. Granted, I didn’t expect much from a Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) wedding because it’s just not who they are. These nuptials felt rushed and thrown together at the last minute. At least we got that steamy sex scene.
NBC
8. Casey & Dawson
Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson’s (Monica Raymund) wedding was the sweet little cherry on top of Chicago Fire’s 100th episode. These two kept things simple with a courthouse wedding and little Louie in between them. Then, they were surprised by their firehouse family. They all watched Dawsey say “I do.” The Dawson and Casey wedding was simple but so sweet.
NBC
7. Boden & Donna
The ultimate Chicago Fire wedding! Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Donna (Melissa Ponzio) tied the knot on the firehouse grounds, with two fire trucks creating a canopy, bagpipes, and Herrmann serving as best man. Who wasn’t swooning when Boden saw Donna walk down the aisle? Find a man who looks at you like that.

6. Casey & Brett
No one could have predicted Brettsey when Chicago Fire first started, but TV works in mysterious ways. Casey and Brett (Kara Killmer) had the sweetest friends-to-lovers story. The found each other and fought for each other, despite the many obstacles in their way. With Boden officiating, Brett and Casey said “I do”—in an aquarium! Mad props to the wedding planners for that creative twist. Brett also had one of the most beautiful TV wedding dresses of all time. She looked ethereal. Brettsey got their happy ending and proved they are true soulmates.

5. Burgess & Ruzek
Burzek fans had been waiting a long time for these two to get married. Burgess and Ruzek finally wed in the Chicago P.D. Season 12 finale. Even though their nuptials were planned at the last minute, these two pulled off the perfect Burzek day. My only note is that I wish we’d gotten to hear some of the Burzek wedding vows! (Release the Burzek cut!)

4. Cruz & Chloe
After the tragedy of Otis’ (Yuriy Sardarov) death earlier in Season 8, it felt so good to see Cruz (Joe Minoso) get his moment with Chloe (Kristen Lee Gutoskie). The couple said “I do” surrounded by their friends and family. Even though Otis wasn’t there, his presence was felt throughout the episode, especially in the church as Cruz and Chloe wed. Cruz has the biggest heart, and I was ecstatic when he found someone to share all the love he had to give.

3. Severide & Kidd
After proposing in the middle of a fire, Stellaride had to do something to take their wedding to the next level. Well, getting married on a boat going down the Chicago River certainly did that. Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) sweetly recited their own vows, promising to love each other and support each other no matter what. For me, it was the moment that Kidd told Severide that he was “magic” in her eyes, only for Severide to pledge that he’ll spend the rest of his life proving that he’s worthy of her. These two have a true partnership, and this moment just sealed the deal.
NBC
2. Mouch & Platt
Randall McHolland (Christian Stolte) and Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) are the GOAT of One Chicago couples. If you look up “opposites attract” in the dictionary, you’ll find Mouch and Platt. They got married in Molly’s—what more could you want from a One Chicago wedding? Nothing!

1. April & Ethan
Ethan (Brian Tee) and April’s (Yaya DaCosta) wedding should have been seen in the pages of a wedding magazine! Start to finish, their wedding was perfection. From April’s dazzling princess bridal look to the magnificent church to jetting off in a Doc on Wheels truck, this Chicago Med couple had their big day planned down to a tee. This was a long-awaited nuptials, and the medical drama did not disappoint.
