9 Disney Couples We Want to See Join the ‘Descendants’ Franchise Next

Hercules and Megara of 'Hercules', Tiana and Naveen of 'The Princess and the Frog', Milo and Kida of 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire', and Kristoff and Anna of 'Frozen 2'
Disney / Everett Collection

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland got us thinking about “perfect princess nepo babies” — that song really scratched an itch — and now we simply cannot stop thinking about more Disney couples we’re dying to see in the DCOM franchise.

With talk of another Descendants movie on the way and fan theories galore, we had a lot to work with while dreaming up which VKs (villain kids) and HKs (hero kids) we could imagine in the Isle of the Lost and Auradon.

While some of these couples are talked about quite a bit in the fandom (Seriously, how haven’t we gotten a Tiana and Naveen storyline yet?) and others are a bit more out there (We stand by our Lilo & StitchDescendants crossover idea!), if you ask us, all nine of these couples and their kids would fit right into the ever-growing Descendants universe.

Scroll to find out our top Disney couples who we want to see in the Descendants film franchise next, and comment below with your most anticipated characters!

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, Streaming Now, Disney+

Tiana and Naveen of 'The Princess and the Frog'
Disney / Everett Collection

Tiana & Naveen

Get ready for Descendants: Frogs. It’s about time that Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and their royal spawn get their moment in the Descendants universe. Both Tiana and Naveen made brief cameos in Descendants 2, but that is not enough for these beloved characters, especially since Dr. Facilier (Jamal Sims) had such a big role in Descendants 3 and fathered known VKs Freddie, Celia, and Felix Facilier.

Tarzan and Jane of 'Tarzan'
Disney / Everett Collection

Tarzan & Jane

It is truly beyond us why Tarzan and Jane have yet to make an appearance in Auradon. Then again, we’re not too sure they’d be into the buttoned-up life the rest of the Disney Heroes are living. Either way, seeing their HK enroll in Auradon Prep would be a really fun introduction. Mal (Dove Cameron) and the rest of the OG trilogy stars probably would have gotten a kick out of someone swinging down the halls on the way to class between all the dancing and magic.

Nani and David of 'Lilo & Stitch'
Disney / Everett Collection

Nani & David

Disney, we want to see more Nani and David everywhere from Auradon to Disney World to the House of Mouse and beyond. Imagine a surfer dude or surfer diva bonding with the VKs and introducing all their Auradon pals to Elvis music, in the spirit of their Auntie Lilo. (Hopefully, Lilo’s nibling inherited a bit of her temper, too!) It’s about time we get some Hawaii realness in the Descendants universe.

Rapunzel and Flynn of 'Tangled'
Disney / Everett Collection

Rapunzel & Flynn

Live-action Tangled is on its way, and we’ve still yet to see Rapunzel, Flynn, or their hypothetical kids take a lead role in the main film franchise, so we’re going to need to remedy that real fast. Milo Manheim is a DCOM kid at heart, so we’re convinced that he would be willing to reprise the role in the Descendants universe. Sounds like the perfect storm to us!

Kuzco and Malina
Disney / Everett Collection

Kuzco & Malina

To be honest, we’re really loving the idea of seeing Kuzco from The Emperor’s New Groove in the Descendants universe. After all, fans are theorizing that KJ of the rumored upcoming Descendants: Hidden Heroes could stand for Kuzco Jr., which is definitely a name our favorite man-turned-llama-turned-man would pick.

While he doesn’t have a love interest in the movie, Kuzco does fall in love in his spinoff The Emperor’s New School. It wouldn’t feel right to see Kuzco parenting in Descendants without Malina!

Kristoff and Anna in 'Frozen 2'
Disney / Everett Collection

Anna & Kristoff

We’re shocked that Frozen hasn’t melted its way into Auradon yet. But that doesn’t mean that Anna and Kristoff’s HKs aren’t on their way. They would make the most adorable parents! We’d love to see Anna’s daughter inherit her Auntie Elsa’s powers. A cozy, winter Descendants movie? Yes, please!

Milo and Kida of 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire'
Disney / Everett Collection

Milo & Kida

Talk about a deep cut! Atlantis: The Lost Empire gets far too little attention in our book, so it’s time that Milo and Kida make their way back into the Disney canon. We’ve seen a lot of live-action fan casts featuring Tom Holland as Milo and Zendaya as Kida, and honestly, now we can’t unsee it. The Odyssey duo might be too big of a pull for a DCOM today, but a girl can dream.

Hercules and Megara of 'Hercules'
Disney / Everett Collection

Hercules & Megara

Did someone say “Zero to Hero” Kid? Hercules and Megara’s son Herkie appears in the Descendants novels, but this Disney couple has yet to show face in the film franchise. Based on the whole Maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth) and Hades (Cheyenne Jackson) history, this HK would be coming into a pretty complicated family, but if you ask us, Mal needs a cousin, and we need more Megara content. It’s a win-win!

Luisa Madrigal of 'Encanto' and Maui of 'Moana'
Disney / Everett Collection

Luisa Madrigal & Maui

Don’t think we haven’t seen the fan theories about Luis Madrigal’s (Alexandro Byrd) father! While Luis’ mom, Luisa, comes from Encanto, and Maui comes from Moana, making them an incredibly unlikely duo, fans are convinced that these two coparented the new Wicked Wonderland star.

This theory comes from the Encanto logic that no Madrigal family members have the same gifts. Luis is super strong, like his mom, which has caused fans to question whether his strength was passed down from his dad instead. Who’s another really strong Disney lead? Oh, just a certain Demigod, who lassoed the sun. Who knows, maybe dancing tattoos are genetic, too!
