Meet the Real-Life Loves of Carrie Preston & More ‘Elsbeth’ Cast Members

Carrie Preston
Carrie Preston, who plays the show’s titular character, has been married to husband Michael Emersonsince 1998. The actor is known for his roles on Lost and Person of Interest.
In 2023, Preston opened up about how she and Emerson maintain their relationship amid their busy schedules. “I think he and I, maybe more than some other couples who are together all the time, we really appreciate the time that we do have together,” she told People.
Emerson joined the cast of Elsbeth as a recurring character in Season 2, playing Judge Milton Crawford.
Wendell Pierce
Wendell Pierce, who plays C.W. Wagner on the show, is married to Erika Woods. The two tied the knot in 2018 and also play a married couple on Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
Carra Patterson plays Kaya Blanke on Elsbeth, and in real life, she’s married to Ruffin Prentiss. The couple tied the knot in May 2019 and have two children.
Prentiss is also an actor, and he guest-starred on an episode of Elsbeth in 2025, playing Detective Darren Jax. “Carrie, you made me feel so welcomed from the second I stepped on set! And walking into a precinct scene with Wendell Pierce was like something out of a dream for me! Thank you both for making the experience so great!” he wrote on Instagram.
Christian Borle
Christian Borle joined Season 2 of Elsbethas Carter Schmidt. In real life, he was married to Sutton Foster from 2006 to 2009. As of 2023, he was in a relationship with Skye Mattox, a “dancer, singer, actor, and choreographer,” according to her Instagram bio.
Molly Price
When she’s not playing Detective Jackie Donnelly on Elsbeth, Molly Price is married to NYPD firefighter Derek Kelly in real life. They tied the knot in 2001 and have one child.
Gloria Reuben
On Elsbeth, Gloria Reuben plays Wagner’s wife Claudia. In real-life, she’s mostly private about her personal life, but she was previously married to Wayne Isaak, a producer and entertainment businessman, from 1999 to 2003.
