The 10 Most Dramatic Weddings in ‘Love Is Blind’ History, Ranked

Giannina Gibelli, Stacy and Izzy on 'Love Is Blind'
Netflix

Once a couple gets engaged on Love Is Blind, the clock starts ticking. They have about four weeks to get to know each other before deciding whether to tie the knot. Meeting family and friends, navigating disagreements, and overcoming obstacles all add to the anticipation leading up to the wedding day. It’s all about that final episode, where they stand at the altar and decide if love truly is blind.

Sometimes, both say “I do,” resulting in beautiful, tear-jerking moments. Other times, it’s an “I don’t” or “I can’t,” and things can go downhill fast. Reality TV is known for its drama, and Love Is Blind weddings certainly deliver.

Love Is Blind, Season 8 Premiere (Episodes 1-6), February 14, Netflix

Hanni in 'Love Is Blind Germany'
Netflix

10. Hanni and Daniel (Love Is Blind: Germany)

Germans aren’t typically known for their humor, so it was a pleasant surprise when laughter brought Hanni and Daniel together in the first season of Love Is Blind: Germany. Daniel was particularly smitten with Hanni’s laugh, leading him to be the first to propose in the pods. Despite Hanni’s role in a love triangle with Ilias and Alina, it seemed possible that she and Daniel would tie the knot. Fans were split in their opinions about the couple, and many felt Hanni faced harsh criticism after the show.

At the altar, Hanni couldn’t go through with the wedding, citing that they “didn’t have enough time” to truly get to know each other. Daniel immediately walked off, much to the audience’s surprise. Hanni met him in a private room to talk. She held his arm, and the two spoke closely, suggesting attraction and interest were still present but that it wasn’t enough. Hanni asked what he had planned to say, and Daniel admitted he had every intention of saying “I do.” Many speculate that the pair might still be dating, although this hasn’t been confirmed.

Silvia Alejandra in 'Love is Blind: México'
Netflix

9. Silvia and Chema (Love Is Blind: Mexico)

At the altar, we’re all waiting for a couple to say “I do” or “I don’t,” but Silvia and Chema will always be remembered in Love Is Blind history for saying neither of those things. Throughout the season, they seemed solid, but as the big day approached, Chema’s uncertainty grew. On the day itself, the pressure was palpable, especially with Chema’s friends and family voicing their doubts about the marriage.

Ultimately, the two met at the altar and decided they wouldn’t be getting married. But while many couples claim they’ll keep dating, they usually leave the venue separately, and tears are involved. Not Chema and Silvia. They escaped hand-in-hand, laughing and refusing to explain themselves to gathered friends and family. Honestly, iconic behavior.

AD, Clay in 'Love Is Blind' Season 6
Netflix

8. AD and Clay (Season 6)

We’ve all had that friend that we wanted to shake and beg to dump her toxic boyfriend. Amber Desiree (AD) was this friend and so much more. Sweet, gentle AD deserved so much better than Clay, who seemed convinced that cheating was hereditary—free will doesn’t exist, apparently.

At the altar, Clay decided not to go through with it, much to AD’s surprise. She whispered to him, “Clay…what the f**k?” and began tearing up. Immediately on the defensive, Clay asked her, “Why does it matter?” Why does it matter?? Because you’re at an altar right now? Because she is wearing a white dress and veil?

AD hugged her mom and Clay’s mom before leaving, surrounded by her girlies. Clay looked visibly annoyed at this inconvenience. Yep, you guessed it, they briefly tried dating again but didn’t last.

In the aftermath, AD expressed her heartbreak, stating, “I don’t see myself continuing to date him… You don’t want to pick me, somebody else will. I’m done! My heart is like completely broken.”

Stacy Snyder, Izzy Zapata in Love is Blind
Netflix

7. Stacy and Izzy (Season 5)

Season 5 of Love Is Blind is often labeled the worst, and it’s no wonder—only two couples made it to the altar. One of them was Stacy and Izzy. Izzy chose Stacy over Johnie, but the drama with Johnie lingered right up to the wedding. The main issue between Stacy and Izzy was their different lifestyles and goals; Stacy simply loved the finer things in life—we can relate.

Just before the wedding, Izzy confessed to Stacy about his debt and bad credit score. She said no at the altar, claiming it was because of his dishonesty, though haters might call her a gold digger. In the lead-up to the altar, Izzy was shaking and sweating profusely.

The real fireworks happened in Izzy’s post-altar interview, where he totally went off on Stacy. He didn’t hold back, ranting, “It makes me wonder why are you 33 and single and not married? I’m 29 and I can give you everything that a f**king rich 45-year-old man that you always go for and always fall for can’t give you.” Yikes. Izzy had been pretty reserved all season, only to blow up at the end and reveal his true colors.

After the wedding, Stacy revealed that Izzy knew she wasn’t going to say “I do” at the altar, but he still chose to say yes. She explained, “He knew that I wasn’t saying yes, and he told me that he still wanted to say yes.”

Deepti Vempati, Abhishek Chatterjee in 'Love Is Blind' Season 2
Netflix

6. Deepti and Shake (Season 2)

The world watched with bated breath as the stunning, sweet, and gentle Deepti walked down the aisle to… Shake. Calling him the villain of his season is not enough; he might just be the most despised man in Love Is Blind history—though recent seasons have given him some fierce competition.

Right from the pods, Shake was not a fan favorite, as he not-so-subtly tried to gauge participants’ appearances with loaded questions. He asked women if he could lift them onto his shoulders at a music festival, clearly missing the “Love is BLIND” memo.

Once paired with the gorgeous Deepti, he still wasn’t satisfied and often compared her to his aunt. Deepti took all of his remarks and opinions with a brave face, and viewers were terrified she might just go through with this. But have no fear, our brave girlie got up there and told him in no uncertain terms that they would not be wed and she was choosing herself. She then left, where her family comforted her and clearly supported the decision—as they should!

Shake, meanwhile, got weird—like, even weirder than usual. He urged everyone to enjoy the party and said they had something to celebrate. Then he informed guests that he had “a reservation at Nobu, so things are good!” The strangest party we’ve ever seen, and we’d definitely prefer doing an Irish Goodbye with Deepti.

Natalie Lee, Shayne Jansen in 'Love Is Blind' Season 2
Adrian S. Burrows Sr. / Netflix

5. Natalie and Shayne (Season 2)

The vibe for this wedding was anything but hopeful. Natalie and Shayne had a rocky season, starting when he accidentally called her “Shaina” in the pods and got defensive about it. Shayne had quite a playful nature yet often took jokes from Natalie as criticism. These minor issues escalated into a major blowout the night before the wedding. During this off-camera fight, Shayne told Natalie he hated her and that she was the worst thing to ever happen to him—yikes! How do you come back from that?

On the big day, Shayne seemed nervous and fidgety, while Natalie appeared resigned. At the altar, Shayne said, “I do,” and looked visibly shocked when Natalie responded with “I don’t.” He followed her out, and they continued arguing about the previous night’s fight. The drama of this wedding centered on that explosive argument and their tense exchange outside the venue.

Surprisingly, Natalie revealed in the reunion special that they tried to reconcile after the wedding. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work out.

Micah Lussier in 'Love Is Blind' Season 4
Netflix

4. Micah and Paul (Season 4)

When you reach the finale, you can usually tell whether or not a couple is going to tie the knot. But Micah and Paul were a true wild card, and some still think it could’ve worked out well for them—it’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me. They were complete opposites but had undeniable chemistry.

The power of this wedding came in the silences. The utter silence that followed when Micah asked Paul to go first. The bridesmaid that shook her head and exclaimed, “I wish I was drunker.” The hesitation on Paul’s face. Honestly, you could feel the tension through your screen. Then, the “but” came. And with it, everything crashed and burned.

Micah bolted down the aisle in tears, with Paul trailing behind. Her best friend, Shelby, grinned and admitted she was “relieved.” In the midst of the chaos, some viewers thought they saw Paul touch a bridesmaid’s backside while heading to the bridal suite. At the reunion, Micah and Paul both clarified that he did not cop a feel in this moment.

Post-filming, the two attempted to rekindle their relationship for a few months, but they found it to be difficult given the distance between them and unresolved issues.

Nancy Rodriguez, Bartise Bowden getting married in 'Love Is Blind' Season 3
Mitchell Haaseth / Netflix

3. Nancy and Bartise (Season 3)

This is a classic case of the not-so-newlyweds not being a source of the drama but their family instead.

Nancy’s sweet nature seemed to have found its opposite in the jovial Bartise. The two had a lot of differing opinions, and some worried that Bartise wasn’t in it for the right reasons. A particular clash came on the subject of abortion, as Nancy’s experience caused her to say she would consider aborting a child with severe special needs, while Bartise and his family wouldn’t hear of it. Ultimately, this fight contributed to Bartise’s decision to turn Nancy down at the altar. She took it on the chin, and the pair went outside to discuss the matter. Only they couldn’t quite get privacy, as Nancy’s family quickly joined the fray.

We should’ve known things would pop off when, immediately after Bartise’s declaration at the altar, Nancy’s brother declared, “What the f**k we doing this for? What we doing this for?” He only grew more agitated, as did Nancy’s mom, while calling out Bartise. Nancy was in tears trying to stop them, and Bartise quickly moved from defensive to aggressive. All in all, it was a chaotic mess, and Bartise was probably quite pleased to walk away from these potential in-laws. We can’t say we blame them. Sibling love runs deep!

Zanab Jaffrey, Cole Barnett getting married in 'Love Is Blind' Season 3
Mitchell Haaseth / Netflix

2. Zanab and Cole (Season 3)

Honestly, this wedding almost took the top spot, but our love for Runaway Bride nudged it to second place.

This ceremony is etched in Love Is Blind history. Leading up to the big day, Cole and Zanab had their fair share of drama—from Cole’s flirtations with Colleen to his (alleged) comments about Zanab’s weight. It seemed like Zanab was turning a blind eye and standing by her man, but in reality, she was gathering receipts.

At the altar, Zanab didn’t just say “I don’t” — she delivered a scathing speech about how Cole had belittled her and shattered her self-esteem. Remember, this was all happening on TV, in front of their friends and family. Cole looked absolutely blindsided and denied many of her claims.

They didn’t patch things up and had nothing nice to say to each other at the reunion. Zanab later mentioned that she hadn’t rehearsed her speech and used the moment to express her feelings, while Cole felt completely duped by the unexpected turn of events. This will forever go down as one of the worst LIB breakups, like ever.

Giannina Gibelli in 'Love Is Blind' Season 1
Netflix

1. Giannina and Damian (Season 1)

Looking back, all the signs pointed to a fiery wedding, the most chaotic of all Love is Blind finales. The real shocker is that Giannina said “yes” at the altar, given that one of their most notable arguments revolved around Damian’s performance in the bedroom department. “You know how you tell me this is the best sex of your life? Have you ever noticed that I don’t return the compliment?” Giannina dared to say. This was one of the cringiest moments in Love is Blind history.

It’s painful to watch Giannina blink up at Damian, so hopeful and naive, to watch the moment he prepares to say it and the realization dawning upon her. Never have the words “I don’t” hit so hard. What followed was pure cinematic chaos as Giannina turned and fled the venue. With her dress billowing behind her and shoes in hand, Nora Ephron could have directed this scene. The moment she slips is enough to make us giggle and cry at the same time—try it sometime. She yells at the camera to leave her alone as she makes her great escape.

Strangely enough, the pair rekindled their relationship after the show, although they finally called it quits two years later. No more attempts down the aisle were made. Giannina is currently engaged to The Bachelorette alum Blake Horstmann, and we’re sure this wedding won’t involve mud on her dress—unless the pair want it to, wink wink.
