The love for Jane Austen continues! While new adaptations of her beloved novels—ahem, Pride & Prejudice—are being made all the time, Miss Austen is diving into the famed author’s life and family.
Historians and Jane Austen fans alike know that Cassandra, Jane’s older sister, burned her sister’s letters after her death. Miss Austen, based on Gill Hornby’s bestselling novel, reimagines that literary mystery into a tale of sisterly love.

Keeley Hawes & Matthew Macfadyen
A couple that loves Jane Austen stays together. Keeley Hawes is playing Cassandra Austen, the author’s only sister in Miss Austen. Hawes’ real-life husband, Matthew Macfadyen, famously played Mr. Darcy in Joe Wright‘s Pride & Prejudice. Hawes and Macfadyen worked together on the set of Spooks and married in 2004. They have two children together. Hawes was previously married to Spencer McCallum, with whom she shares a son.
