Netflix is ending the year right with one last show that will make you smile and tug at your heartstrings. The streamer has released the first season of Ripple, a new series that follows four New York City strangers on separate paths whose lives unexpectedly intertwine.
Ripple features an incredible cast of TV favorites, including Pretty Little Liars and Hallmark star Ian Harding, Banshee‘sFrankie Faison, and Katy Keene‘sJulia Chan. Swooon readers, you can rest assured there will be some love during Ripple’s six-episode run. Harding told TV Insider to expect “romance and romantic tension.” He noted, “It’s a show that has hope and heart.”
In real life, most of the Ripple cast members have found lasting love. One star even met their actor husband in high school! In honor of the show’s premiere, Swooon is taking a look at the cast’s relationships with their significant others.

Ian Harding
Ian Harding started dating his now-wife, photographer Sophie Hart, in 2011. The Pretty Little Liars star, who plays Nate in Ripple, married Hart in 2019. After living in Los Angeles for several years, Harding and Hart moved to Washington D.C., Harding’s hometown, in 2021. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in 2022.

Frankie Faison, who plays Walter in the new Netflix series, has been married to his wife, Samantha Jupiter Faison, since 2017. The couple keeps a low-profile, but they have attended some public events together, including the CNN Heroes event in 2015.

Julia Chan stars as Kris in Ripple. The Katy Keene alum appears to be in a relationship with Toby Burns, with whom she shares a son named Henry. In 2022, Chan shared a sweet family photo featuring Burns. “Happy Birthday to my true love. What a dad. What a guy, collaborator, pal, happy maker and partner. Cheers to you, TWB. Lucky me and Henry,” she wrote. Chan was previously married to Erik Ratensperger from 2011 to 2019.

Vanessa Smythe plays Claire, a supporting character in Ripple. The Hallmark alum has a Hallmark love story of her own. She met her now-husband, Degrassi star Jake Epstein, in high school. They have been together for over two decades. Smythe and Epstein married in 2018 and welcomed their son, Miles, in 2023.
