The Olympic ice dance medals are on the line, and all the couples hitting the ice on February 11 are skating for gold. Viewers across the globe were captivated by the rhythm dance routines from the ice dancing pairs, and the free dance performances will be must-watch television for those tuning in to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina.

While Madison Chock and Evan Bates of Team USA are the most high-profile ice dancing couple who happen to be married, they’re not the only ones who’ve found love on the ice. Several of the ice dancing couples who will be skating for a free dance medal this year are married or in a romantic relationship. With all eyes on the ice dancing couples in Milan, Swooon is breaking down which pairs are married, dating, or strictly platonic. (There are even two sets of siblings!)

Madison Chock & Evan Bates

Status: Married

Madison Chock and Evan Bates started out as just ice dancing partners in 2011. But over their years of working together, their relationship blossomed into something more. The couple started dating in 2017 and got married on June 20, 2024. The 2026 Winter Olympics marks their first Olympics as a married couple.

Great Britain’s Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson have been ice dancing partners for a decade. Their relationship is strictly professional on and off the ice.  Gibson is married to his husband, Joshua Walsh. Gibson came out as gay in 2020.

Laurence Fournier Beaudry & Guillaume Cizeron

Status: Platonic Partners

Team France’s Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron are a new ice dancing duo that has taken the Olympics by storm. They are strictly partners, with Beaudry in a relationship and Cizeron openly gay.

However, they have faced controversy regarding their former skating partners. Beaudry’s boyfriend and former ice dancing partner, Nikolaj Sorensen, was banned from skating for Canada after he was accused of sexual assault. The suspension was overturned by an appeal panel last year.

In the midst of her boyfriend’s controversy, Beaudry paired up with Cizeron, who had retired in 2022 after winning gold with Gabriella Papadakis. Leading up to the Olympics, Papadakis released her memoir, So As Not to Disappear, and accused Cizeron of being “controlling” and “demanding.” Cizeron has denied all claims made by his former partner.

Milla Ruud Reitan and Nikolaj Majorov, who are representing Sweden, are a new ice dancing couple. The pair confirmed their romantic relationship in 2025. They shared a sweet kiss after their performance at the Winter Olympics on February 9.
