Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) searched for hookups, boyfriends, and soulmates throughout Sex and the City‘s run. Along the way, all four of the stylish and successful ladies found love, leading to a handful of weddings.
From Charlotte and Trey’s (Kyle MacLachlan) Scottish-tinged wedding to Miranda and Steve’s (David Eigenberg) nuptials at a community garden to theLiza Minnelli officiating Stanford (Willie Garson) and Anthony’s (Mario Cantone) ceremony, no Sex and the City wedding was the same. How could we forget Carrie Bradshaw’s infamous almost wedding to Mr. Big (Chris Noth) and then her much more low-key “I dos” at the end of the Sex and the City movie?
In honor of And Just Like That… returning for Season 3, Swooon is ranking the Sex and the City universe weddings from worst to best. Do you agree with our placements? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

7. Carrie & Big (2), Sex and the City: The Movie
This wedding was not what Carrie Bradshaw truly wanted. Carrie and Big officially got married at the end of Sex and the City: The Movie after he abandoned her before their first wedding. Big, having already been married three times, didn’t want the fuss of a huge affair. Well, he got what he wanted in the end. Carrie agreed to tie the knot at the New York City courthouse in a “labeless dress.” (Of course, the ensemble was stylish. But was this meant for Carrie Bradshaw’s wedding? No.) This was yet another moment Carrie acquiesced to Big instead of putting her wants first. At least she got that huge closet and his money after the Peloton killed him…

6. Bitsy & Bobby, Sex and the City
Bobby Fine (Nathan Lane) and Bitsy Von Muffling (Julie Halston) deserved the world. These two matched each other’s freak. Bobby and Bitsy’s elegant Hamptons wedding was the perfect balance to their vivacious personalities. Intimate and classy. Everyone made fun of these two, but they understood each other on a level that blocked out the haters. Bobby let Bitsy be the star of the show… Big should have taken a hint.

5. Carrie & Big (1), Sex and the City: The Movie
Oh, what this wedding could have been. The New York Public Library alone! Carrie and Big’s wedding would have been the event of the season (possibly the year). From the location to the dress to the reception, it would have been epic—and everything Carrie wanted. When Big couldn’t get a hold of Carrie, he just left. Seriously, try getting in touch with any bride on their wedding day, buddy. Big humiliated Carrie on the biggest day of her life. That was unforgivable. If you love someone who loves to be the center of attention, you put a smile on your face, say “I do,” and fight about it later. You don’t let her run down 40th Street in her Vivienne Westwood gown to hit you with her bouquet.

4. Charlotte & Trey, Sex and the City
Look, Trey MacDougal was a troubled dude. But let’s get one thing straight: Trey and Charlotte’s wedding was picturesque. Charlotte’s wedding dress? Perfection. Trey rocking that Scottish kilt? So handsome. The white and red rose petals as Charlotte and Trey walked out of the church? Gorgeous! Every single wedding detail was thought out. This would have been the best (and most beautiful) day of Charlotte’s life if Trey had been the guy.

3. Miranda & Steve, Sex and the City
Miranda and Steve had such a stunning fall wedding in New York City. They stumbled upon a community garden after Miranda’s Duane Reade bag broke (relatable). On a whim, Miranda and Steve decided to get married there. Miranda in her red velvet dress, and Steve in his suit, with just their closest loved ones there to support them. It was a small and simple wedding, and so right for these two.

2. Stanford & Anthony, Sex and the City 2
Look, there was so much wrong in Sex and the City 2, but Stanford and Anthony’s wedding could never be anything but right. They had the gay wedding of everyone’s dreams. Every single aspect of the big day was over the top and so totally camp. Liza Minnelli officiated and performed “Single Ladies.” That was the power of Stanford and Anthony.

1. Charlotte & Harry, Sex and the City
Everything went wrong on Charlotte and Harry’s (Evan Handler) wedding day, but one thing that never failed was their love for each other. Charlotte and Harry were the epitome of opposites attract and found each other in the wake of her divorce. She converted to Judaism for him, and after a brief breakup, they got back together and married. When Charlotte cried over so many little wedding disasters, Carrie was there to remind her that she had the perfect wedding day already, and it didn’t give her the perfect marriage. This was Charlotte’s second chance to get it right, no matter how the day fleshed out.
Also, Charlotte managed to totally slay both of her wedding looks. Charlotte’s wedding dress when she married Trey was the ultimate princess vibe, but her second wedding dress was timeless. No notes for either bridal look.
