Single’s Infernois back! For the past four seasons, the Korean reality dating show has whisked its participants — and viewers — away to a deserted island. There’s only one way off it: To find love with one of their fellow island dwellers, which would allow them to head to Paradise (aka a five-star resort) together. Though they can’t reveal their jobs or ages at the start, they’re allowed to open up once they’re off Inferno island.
The show’s premise, which more tamely echoesLove Island, attracts a number of flirty, bold singles, and Season 5 is no exception. This time around, Single’s Inferno has a number of models, athletes, and reality TV regulars aiming to win the games and find love. Swooon is breaking down everything you need to know about the new cast members, including their Instagrams.

Ham Ye-jin
The self-described quirky and honest Ham Ye-jin is a freelance news announcer and event host. The 30-year-old noted that she usually doesn’t have to flirt with guys. “I just look people in the eye when I talk to them, and everything just works out,” she said.
Kim Go-eun is no stranger to the public eye. Not only is she the daughter of soccer player Kim Hyun-soo, but the 26-year-old also has an established career as a model. She won the 66th Miss Korea pageant in 2022.
She explained that she has a puppy-like personality, despite her cat-like looks. “I may look cold on the outside,” she said during her show intro, explaining that she’s not used to single life. “But once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m cute and warm-hearted.”
A former cheerleader, Park Hee-sun is a confident, attention-loving dance enthusiast. “I get asked out constantly,” she said, adding that she’s never fallen head-over-heels for a guy. “When I go out on the street, guys come up to me every three steps I take.”
Kim Min-gee knows her way around a competition. The 30-year-old is a professional track and field athlete, with a focus on the 400-meter race. She’s earned the top prize at Korea’s National Sports Festival for the past four years. She’s also got some reality TV competitions under her belt, including King of Masked Singer, Shooting Stars, and King of Survival: Tribal War.
The athlete says that she may come across as cold, but she’s really “bubbly and cutesy” once you get to know her. She’s also determined when it comes to love: “I [will] keep pursuing that person and keep trying until they open up,” she said. “I keep knocking and knocking until they open up.”
Lee Joo-young isn’t lacking in confidence, but we suppose that makes sense for someone whose nickname was “goddess” in school. “I’ve been popular since the day I was born,” she said in her intro.
The 26-year-old, who describes herself as a “smart cookie” with a “bubbly personality,” is a home decor designer. After studying her craft in college, she makes vases and pressed-flower resin artworks.

Choi Mina Sue
Australian-born Choi Mina Sue hails from the beauty pageant world. Back in 2022, she won the 22nd Miss Earth competition. These days, the 27-year-old is studying communications at the University of Illinois. She filmed Single’s Inferno while interning at a Korean beauty company.
Prior to Single’s Inferno, Mina Sue appeared in the Korean competition show Battle for Tenancy: Penthouse, the same year that she won Miss Earth. The self-described “ball of fire” said that she can be a bit focused on herself when it comes to relationships.
Min-gee isn’t the only competitor with a love for sports. Youn Hyun-jae knows the Korean martial art kundo. He’s hoping to feel “butterflies in [his] stomach,” which he hasn’t felt in a while. When he does, he’ll “pursue her until the end.”
Single’s Inferno has a competitive bunch this year, but Song Seung-il might have everyone beat, despite being one of the youngest of the cast. “I hate losing to the point where I can’t even sleep well after I’ve lost at something,” the 25-year-old said in his intro.
The fashion marketer doubles as an athlete, with a love for jiujitsu. He also said he seems to get whoever he wants when it comes to romance, but he also doesn’t fall for people easily. We’ll have to see how that works for him on Single’s Inferno.
Single’s Inferno definitely attracts the confident. “I never fall behind when it comes to my physique or aura,” Shin Hyeon-woo said. His age and job aren’t known, but a clip did show him playing basketball. He noted that older women are drawn to him. “I believe in fate, so I look forward to meeting someone I’m meant to be with here on Single’s Inferno,” he added in his intro.
After studying dance in college, 28-year-old Kim Jae-jin, the jokester of the group, became a professional dancer and dance teacher. “I have a personality you’d never expect from my cold looks, a surprising charm,” he said. “I promise to spend every moment with honesty and sincerity here on Single’s Inferno.”
Woo Sung-min runs his family’s optical shop, and the 30-year-old has a clear idea of what he wants out of Single’s Inferno. Rather than an “intense romance,” he prefers “relaxed, easygoing relationships, like those between good friends.”
We’ve got another athlete on the island! Though he’s currently a model, Lim Su-been was a baseball pitcher for 10 years before a shoulder injury took him out of the sport. When he joined the show in Episode 2, the 24-year-old mentioned that people say he’s “mature” with “golden retriever energy.”

Lee Sung-hun
Lee Sung-hun, who’s fluent in English and Korean, lives in New York. He thinks people are drawn to his “warmth, confidence, and hidden charm,” and he’s looking for a “very genuine and kind” partner with a “cat-like” vibe.
