‘Superman’ Cast’s Real-Life Loves: Meet Rachel Brosnahan’s Husband & More
When you think of Superman, romance might not be the first thing that comes to mind. However, we agree with Rachel Brosnahan — the latest actress to take on the role of Clark Kent’s love interest, Lois Lane — that Superman is in many ways a love story.
“Superman is an alien who loves humans and is curious about them — and what brings out our humanity better than getting unexpectedly knocked off your ass by love?” Brosnahan told GQ.
Even if you’re watching James Gunn‘s superhero flick for the action rather than the relationships — we can’t relate — you might still be curious about the cast’s off-screen love lives. We couldn’t help but wonder, is David Corenswet (aka the new actor to take on the Man of Steel) single? What about Nicholas Hoult, who plays the villainous Lex Luthor? David Corenswet
Sorry to break it to you: Superman is off the market. Corenswet has been married to Julia Best Warner, who’s a fellow actor and producer, since March 2023. They met in a summer theater program as teenagers, and their first child was born in early 2024. (Read more about their love story here.)
Rachel Brosnahan
As The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fans might already know, Brosnahan is also married. Her SO is Jason Ralph, who appeared alongside his wife in the aforementioned series in Seasons 4 and 5. They wed in 2018, a decade after they met on a movie set.
The couple keeps their relationship under wraps for the most part, but Ralph has gushed about working with his wife. “She’s just the best, and I just feel very lucky to have gotten to be kind of like a fly on the wall,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Who gets to see the person that they’re married to, and love, command a set like that, and be a leader?”
Nicholas Hoult
To round out Superman‘s main trio, Hoult is also a taken man. The actor has been with model Bryana Holly since 2017 — three years after Hoult and longtime girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence broke up — and they tied the knot in a secret ceremony in 2024. They have two kids.
Skyler Gisondo
Skyler Gisondo, who appears as Jimmy Olsen in the movie, hasn’t publicly confirmed that he’s dating anyone. However, he’s rumored to be in a relationship with Fear Street: Prom Queen actress Ella Rubin. They’ve been spotted at a few events together this year.
Nathan Fillion
Nathan Fillion appears to be single, though he did pose with Malcolm in the Middle actress Tania Raymonde at the Superman premiere. The Green Lantern actor has been linked to Krista Allen, General Hospital‘s Vanessa Marcil, and Mikaela Hoover. The latter, who is Fillion’s former fiancée, just so happens to also star in Superman as Cat Grant.
Isabela Merced
Isabela Merced, DC’s new Hawkgirl, seems to be flying solo. The Last of Us actress has dated actor Jace Norman, and she’s been linked to Dylan Summerall and a graphic designer named Kianah McWilson though neither were confirmed.
Anthony Carrigan
The Metamorpho actor is a married man. Anthony Carrigan said “I do” to Serbian professional chess player Gia Olimp in 2018. They met on the subway in New York City. The actor also shared photos of their ceremony on social media.
Sara Sampaio
Sara Sampaio — aka Lex Luthor’s assistant, Eve Teschmacher — is dating another figure in the public eye. For about two years, she’s been in a relationship with Ray Nicholson, who’s followed in the footsteps of his actor dad.
Edi Gathegi
Twilight‘s Edi Gathegi has been a husband to Adriana Marinescu for almost a decade. Not much is known about their relationship, but the Mister Terrific actor did pen a heartfelt message to his wife on her birthday back in 2021.
“Here’s to the strongest sensitive soul I’ve ever met, a disturbingly beautiful combination,” he wrote. “Can’t wait to continue learning more and more about you as the years go on and watch your six foreverever.”
Wendell Pierce
Wendell Pierce stars alongside Erika Woods in Power Book III: Raising Kanan, in which they play a married couple. Though they haven’t walked down the aisle themselves, they have been together for about a decade.
The actor, who plays Daily Planet Editor-in-Chief Perry White, gave some insight into their relationship to Blavity. “We first met as colleagues, as actors, so that defines our relationship off-screen and on-screen,” Pierce said. “We shared the vocation, the thing that we’re called to do, and that’s where we found our commonality and our chemistry, both professionally and, you know, personally.”
María Gabriela de Faría
María Gabriela de Faría, who brings the Engineer to life in Superman, married Venezuelan actor Christian McGaffney in 2020.
The Deadly Class actress worked with her husband on the 2023 comedy The Duel. “We have worked in television together before,” she told El Paìs. “We met doing television, but we had never made films together, and the truth is that we never imagined making American films, in another language, and having such a good time doing it. It’s a bliss, we’re really happy.”
Beck Bennett
Beck Bennett and actress Jessy Hodges tied the knot in 2018. The Saturday Night Live alum, who portrays Steve Lombard in Superman, welcomed their first baby in 2022.
“We actually met working together on a sketch where Beck was playing my boyfriend,” Hodges told Gossamer. “We are both each other’s biggest fan, and we’re in the front row.”
Frank Grillo
It’s unclear if Frank Grillo is in a relationship at the moment, though he has appeared at a few events, including the Superman premiere, with San Nardi over the past couple of years. You can spot him in the film as General Rick Flag Sr.
Mikaela Hoover
Mikaela Hoover appears to be single, though she recently dated Never Have I Ever‘s Darren Barnet in 2022. Aside from that, there was her aforementioned engagement to Fillion.
