At this point, you can pick any character in The Pitt, and you’ll find that fans have shipped them with every single other character in the show. That’s part of the beauty of the medical drama, which is pretty much a blank slate when it comes to romance. Because there are so few romantic relationships playing out in the hospital — the doctors are far too busy running the ER — you can imagine anyone falling in love with anyone. That setup has led to some truly stellar ships, even if there’s little chance they’ll actually come to be on the show.
While some of the ships in The Pitt fandom, like Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) and Mohan (Supriya Ganesh), aren’t surprising considering how they interact on the show, others have quite literally never crossed our minds. There are people making TikTok edits and writing fanfiction about Langdon (Patrick Ball) and Robby (Noah Wyle), for instance. Heck, we’ve even seen people throw out nurse Emma (Laëtitia Hollard) and Park the Shark (Lou Ferrigno Jr.).
Seriously, The Pitt fans are nothing if not creative, so we’ve gathered some of the most surprising pairings we’ve seen so far. (The list could’ve been a mile long, so feel free to suggest a few in the comments at the end of the page.)

Santos & Javadi
Maybe it’s just because we were so locked in on Santos (Isa Briones) and Garcia (Alexandra Metz) in Season 1 — a ship that actually set sail, even if they aren’t faring well in Season 2 — but we never pictured Javadi (Shabana Azeez) with Santos. Now that we think about it, though, their frenemies dynamic could translate well in a romance. Crashsantos is a fun one.
HBO Max
Emma & Dana
This one came across our X feed at the start of Season 2, proving that The Pitt fans waste no time coming up with ships. Dana (Katherine LaNasa) takes Emma (Laëtitia Hollard) under her wing in the very first episode, and some viewers seem to think they have the potential to have more than a mentor and mentee. We aren’t seeing the vision with this one, but hey, we’re not one to judge another person’s ship.

Langdon & Whitaker
Again, maybe we’re too fixated on Hucklerobby, but not once did we think about pairing Whitaker (Gerran Howell) with Langdon. Nonetheless, there are dozens of fanfics about them. We have to admit, there could be something there with this one, what with Whitaker replacing Langdon as Robby’s favorite. Hello, tension!
HBO Max
Santos & Al-Hashimi
We didn’t come up with Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) and Santos, but this TikTok edit has opened our eyes to their potential. Garcia and Santos have lost their sparkle in Season 2, so we need a new Santos ship anyway. Sure, it’s seriously unlikely to ever happen with Al-Hashimi set to take over the department, who cares? One can dream.
HBO Max
McKay & Robby
Anyone out there rooting for McKay (Fiona Dourif) and Robby? We’ve stumbled upon this one a few times, and we feel kind of lukewarm about it. There is the fact that McKay clocks Robby’s weird vibe ahead of his “sabbatical” in Season 2, but honestly, we think that proves she’s just a little too evolved for him.
HBO Max
Park & Shen
This one got a chuckle out of us. Park the Shark only breezes in and out in Episode 10 of Season 2, but apparently, he made quite an impression on people. One ship that’s emerged since is him and the night shift’s Dr. Shen (Ken Kirby). Have they interacted on screen? No. But that doesn’t matter to The Pitt shippers. (Respect.)
HBO Max
Langdon & Robby
They don’t hold a candle to King (Taylor Dearden) and Langdon, but Robby and Langdon aren’t our least favorite The Pitt pairing. We’ve never envisioned them as a couple, but others certainly have.
HBO Max
McKay & Javadi
Another mentor-mentee duo that some fans have turned into a ship is McKay and Javadi. Their relationship is already so good in the show that we don’t really feel the urge for them to get together, but we have to say, a few McVadi edits have moved us.
HBO Max
Park & Emma
We have to share the Park/Emma edit that inspired us to take a deep dive into surprising Pitt ships in the first place. It was probably made as a joke, but it’s fun, and we love a grumpy-sunshine pair.
