The Ultimatum: Queer Love is finally back for Season 2!

Once again, we’ll see a cast made up entirely of women and non-binary people, all starting the show off in established relationships. However, one partner wants to get married, while the other does not. In order to come to a decision, they split up and enter trial marriages with new people. At the end of the eight weeks, they decide whether to get hitched or go their separate ways — or pursue their trial partner instead.

Messy breakups and happy engagements took place at the end of the first season. With the new episodes coming out starting June 25, we were curious what the Season 1 stars’ love lives look like two years after we last caught up with them. Scroll to find out who’s still together and who’s called it quits. (One couple is still happily together, we promise!)

Yoly & Mal

Status: Split

Mal Wright and Yoly Rojas had a rocky experience during Season 1. Yoly had a close relationship with her swapped partner, Xander Boger, and on decision day, they nearly pursued a relationship. However, Yoly did end up accepting Mal’s proposal.

In the reunion episode, however, the couple revealed that they called it off and had broken up entirely.

Mal told TV Insider that she had no idea that Xander and a conflicted Yoly met on decision day at all. “I’m past it, I know that,” Mal said. “And if anything, it just confirms my decision to walk away after the fact.”

According to a February 2024 Instagram post, Mal has moved on and is currently in a new relationship.

Rae & Lexi

Status: Split

During the reunion, it seemed like Lexi Goldberg and Raelyn “Rae” Cheung-Sutton would be one of the last couples standing. Following a happy post-show year, the couple was still engaged. Then, a text slide revealed they’d gone their separate ways.

Lexi told TV Insider that problems began to emerge shortly after the reunion episode, when she realized that there was some “dishonesty” during filming. Rae had formed a friendship with her trial partner Vanessa Papa, whom Lexi didn’t get along with.

“I had found out some stuff that just was really new information to me, that I probably should have known about when deciding if I was going to get engaged or at some point after,” she said.

Rae, on the other hand, attributed changes in Lexi’s lifestyle and career to their breakup. “And I think we both — from the show and from everything that happened that I’m going to be vague about — just changed as people,” she added.

These days, Lexi seems to be in another relationship, according to her Instagram. So is Rae, who recently posted a montage of her girlfriend. “The butterfly effect is crazy because what if I was never issued an Ultimatum,” the caption says.

Tiff & Mildred

Status: Split

Tiff Der and Mildred Woody were another couple to get engaged by the end of the season, but the reunion episode showed a different end to their story. Most notably, Mildred disclosed that she was arrested after throwing furniture at Tiff. From there, Mildred started throwing more heated accusations at her ex. Tiff then walked off the set.

“It was a snapshot of the relationship I had with her,” they told TV Insider. “And that’s the exact reason why I left that relationship.”

Tiff, who hasn’t revealed if they’re currently in a relationship on social media, plans on covering the second season of the reality show on Instagram. Mildred doesn’t appear to have a public social media account.

Xander and Vanessa in 'The Ultimatum: Queer Love'

Xander & Vanessa

Status: Split

Vanessa became a bit of a villain during Season 1. Some of her costars claimed Vanessa viewed the show as an opportunity to take a break from her partner and get famous. At the same time, her original partner Xander found a strong connection with Yoly.

After Vanessa found out, they broke up on decision day, and they had a tense reunion when the cast got back together. “I think she was more so angry that I was choosing Yoly,” Xander told TV Insider. “She knew that I was choosing Yoly, and she did not want me to do that because Yoly was the biggest threat to her.”

In the end, Vanessa and Xander left solo. It’s unclear if either of them are currently in other relationships.

Sam & Aussie

Status: Engaged

Finally, the one couple to make it out of The Ultimatum: Queer LoveAussie Chau proposed at the end of the show to their original partner, Sam Mark. The couple was still engaged when the reunion episode aired, though they still had yet to reveal their relationship and Aussie’s sexuality to their family.

Sam recently provided an update on their relationship status via Instagram, sharing a photo of Aussie presenting a ring to her.

“And no I won’t be commenting on our marriage status because it really doesn’t matter whether or not you know,” the June 18 caption says. “The exception is if we know you personally lol I don’t really follow traditions anyways, but I will say it’s funny that the Ultimatum actually helped me care less about marriage than I did before we started the journey.”
