Walton Goggins has made quite a name for himself playing complicated and often dubious characters. As his career has skyrocketed in recent years, he’s had one woman by his side: Nadia Conners.

The Alabama-born actor will be in attendance at the 2025 Emmys to support The White Lotus and his nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. His wife will likely be by his side on TV’s biggest night.

“To be in a relationship with someone who has something profound to say about everything, that’s a real gift to have that in your union. I do believe, ironically, that love is the great release,” he gushed about his marriage in a 2011 interview with Military.com. Learn more about his wife and his past marriage below.

Who is Walton Goggins’ wife?

Goggins is married to Nadia Conners. They live in Hudson Valley, New York. She has had a successful career in Hollywood as a writer and director. Her debut environmental documentary, The 11th Hour, was even nominated for an award at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. That project was backed and narrated by Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

More recently, she premiered her first narrative film, The Uninvited, in March 2024 at South by Southwest. Goggins was cast in the movie as the husband. Inspired by a real-life party they threw, she told Sneak Peek on the red carpet that the Pedro Pascal-starring film was definitely not a biopic. She also served as a writer on the TV series Tyrant.

Ahead of the Emmys on September 14, Conners penned a sweet tribute to her husband. “The moment with Walton on the street was during a conversation about his life and career in LA while I sat in the passenger seat (he was having a cigarette before we hit the road),” she wrote. “I saw him as the man I met almost tom hollands age and the man he is now. The symmetry of that passage of time in the shifting headlights… and me in the bed at the chateau with his reflection as outline … we got married here twice and actually had our first date here…histories.”

Goggins commented, “Memories… History… and the present moment. I love you lady.”

Goggins opened up about the love he has for his son on Father’s Day in 2020. “This one’s mine. I’d say like father like son but truth be told, in my case, I prefer like son like father,” Goggins began. “He is kind and earnest, thoughtful and funny As shit. He is insatiably curious, empathetic and has taught me more about being a man than anything that has happened in my life. I love you little man.”

What happened to Walton Goggins’ first wife?

The Shield star’s first wife was Leanne Knight, whom he wed in 2001. She owned a dog-walking business in Laurel Canyon, California. The couple stayed married until Knight’s death in 2004. She died by suicide.

In an interview with GQ, Goggins opened up about the death of his first wife. “I had someone in my life that committed suicide,” he said, “and she was my wife.”

After her death, Goggins admitted that he struggled with moving on. “I thought it was really unrecoverable for me,” he revealed. “Life on the other side of that. And I spent the next three years looking for an excuse—not to end it, but certainly putting myself in situations that were questionable, not with drugs or anything like that, just life experiences and traveling. And I really went all over the world.”

He traveled to Thailand and found himself back in the same place he’d been two decades before. “I don’t know,” Goggins said. “I think I haven’t had the time to fully unpack the symmetry between those two people showing up at the same place, separated by 20 years. And a wife and a kid and peace and all the rest of it.”

What happened between Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood?

Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood were costars in Season 3 of The White Lotus. Goggins played Rick, and Wood played Rick’s younger girlfriend, Chelsea. During Season 3’s run, affair rumors spread about the costars, which were exacerbated by Goggins’ praise for Wood on social media and then fans discovering that Goggins had unfollowed Wood on Instagram.

The costars sat down for their first and only interview together to put the rumors to rest. “There is no feud,” Goggins told Variety. “I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me. This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be … She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”

Conners dismissed the rumors in an interview with HELLO! “It’s odd to see it, but it’s an indication of how much people were invested in the fictional characters. I take it as a sign that he’s become quite popular,” she said.
