Stevie Nicks Compares ‘Daisy Jones’ Relationship to Her Romance With Lindsey Buckingham

Could Daisy Jones & the Six get a second season after all? If it were up to music icon Stevie Nicks, it sure would.

Nicks opened up to Rolling Stone and revealed that after first watching the popular Prime Video show, which chronicled the journey of the fictional band Daisy Jones & the Six, she said, “Am I just watching my life go by?”

Taylor Jenkins Reid, the author whose book the adaptation is based on, previously revealed that Nicks’ band Fleetwood Mac and romance with Lindsey Buckingham were an inspiration. But even though there’s no sequel to the popular novel and the show was always supposed to be a limited series, Nicks has thrown out some ideas based on her real life.

In the finale, Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) reunites with Daisy Jones (Riley Keough), but the door is left open as to what happens next. Viewers hoped a second season would explore the possibility that Billy and Daisy reignited the flame between them after Camila Alvarez (Camila Morrone), Billy’s wife, gives him the encouragement to call Daisy after she passes away. Now, Nicks is pondering what could happen if the show did continue and brought up her famed former lover.

“I wish that it could go into what if … had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that I always hoped that Lindsey and I would make,” Nicks said. “That would make a fantastic second season.” According to the artist, executive producer Reese Witherspoon and Keough had a positive reaction to her idea. She said, “They loved the idea, but everybody’s so busy. Riley’s on her way to becoming a big movie star. But maybe one of these days, they’ll do it.”

The rock star candidly admitted that she didn’t think it was “even possible to emulate” her life until she saw the series. “The Edge of Seventeen” singer even compared some of the fictional characters to her former bandmates, including Buckingham. “I thought Billy [Claflin] was spectacular. I thought he captured so much of Lindsey that it was creepy. He had the curls and that dark handsomeness that Lindsey had,” she expressed. “One of my favorites was Camila [Morrone]. I thought that Camila and Daisy were a really good combination of me, the two of them put them together.”

She also brought up her late dear friend Christine McVie and Suki Waterhouse‘s Karen Sirko, “I thought Suki was a great Christine — in her Englishness and just the way that she dressed. And you know what I was really sad about? That Christine didn’t get to see that, because she would’ve been so tickled by her.”

Daisy Jones and The Six gathered more fans than just Nicks. The series went on to receive nine Emmy nominations, including a Lead Actress nod for Keough. The series’ album Aurora, which featured original music performed by the cast, was also nominated for a Grammy.

The cast was supposed to perform the tracks at the 2023 Lollapalooza festival, Waterhouse revealed in a YouTube vlog. However, this didn’t happen as it was canceled because of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
