Taylor Lautner Resurrects Jacob Vs. Edward ‘Twilight’ Debate in New Video
The Twilight Saga will never be over! Taylor Lautner is rekindling the flame in 2024. But why?
Oh, he has more thoughts about the love triangle that was played out in the popular movies. And, no, he did not bring up Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), the person his character Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) imprinted on. Instead, he has some interesting views on who Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) should’ve married. As every Twihard will recall, Bella’s love triangle was between werewolf Jacob and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).
Spoiler alert, she chose Edward. Actually, it doesn’t seem that she ever even saw Jacob as a viable option.

Lautner wanted to bring the love triangle question by joining in on a viral TikTok trend. He filmed the scene of Bella marrying Edward in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and added the following text over his video, “Honestly screw Edward. Bella should have ended up with Jacob.”
He then flipped the camera back onto himself. When the camera switched back, it made it obvious that he was the one who wrote the text. “Oh no no no,” he stated while pretending to turn off his phone. The actor captioned the post, “Oops.”
This certainly wasn’t the first time he’s spoken about the famous love triangle. While reflecting back on the challenging off-screen dynamic during his 2023 Call Her Daddy podcast appearance, he said, “I think it was tough. I don’t know for [Pattinson], but for me at least, … especially at the age I was at,” as he further explained to host Alex Cooper, “You get your feelings hurt sometimes when you shouldn’t, but it’s hard not to sometimes.”
He did emphasize that the two actors didn’t have a problem with each other, but that there were some uncomfortable moments, especially when it came to their fans.
“It was awkward at times for the two of us standing together on a balcony and a thousand girls booing Rob but cheering for me,” Lautner said. “And then this [other] half booing me and cheering for [him] but us having to have some sort of friendship was difficult.”
