Will ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Couple Joan & Chock Marry Quickly Like Gerry & Theresa?
Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple have just embarked on their happily ever after. Now, obviously, questions about when they are going to get married have started. The Golden Bachelorette couple admitted sparks were flying from the very first time they spent time together during their one-on-one date at Disneyland.
After that, Joan had to date a bunch of other suitors, but the thought of loving Chock kept popping up. The newly engaged couple has been everywhere these past few month, from sunny Los Angeles to hometown glory in Kansas and Maryland to bustling New York City to Tahiti.
But when asked how quickly they’ll get to their eventual nuptials, Joan and Chock are keeping things vague. The couple told Us Weekly that they will have a “long engagement, -ish.” However, they want an intimate wedding and televised nuptials.
This is in stark contrast to Golden Bachelor couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist. They wed within a year of getting engaged on the show. Yet, their marriage didn’t last. The two split up only three months after tying the knot.
When it comes to the size of the actual wedding, Chock is leaving all that up to Joan.
Joan didn’t originally want a big spectacle, but she’s beginning to change her mind. “I wanted it to be intimate about our love and about sharing it with just our family and friends, who we haven’t been able to share it with,” she said.
Her opinion began to shift after the engagement party Chock had put together. Joan told Swooon that seeing “a lot of our friends and family” allowed her to see “the joy of maybe it being a little bit bigger and inviting Bachelor Nation in a little more than I thought.”
However, when this eventual celebration of their love will happen hasn’t been revealed. Perhaps they don’t even know yet. They have recently opened up about their search for a joint home in New York, which they have named their place for “couple time.”
