‘The Bachelor’s Rachael Kirkconnell Reveals If Cheating Was Involved in Matt James Split
Days after the split between Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James broke, fans are trying to unravel what happened between one of Bachelor Nation’s favorite couples.
Originally meeting on The Bachelor Season 25, the two established themselves as influencers in the years since. James’ career saw him review restaurants all over the globe, with Kirkconnell participating as well. Their last video as an item also belonged in that category as they reviewed a pizzeria in London together. Yet, not even 24 hours later on January 16, James revealed that he and Kirkconnell had gone their separate ways.
Kirkconnell hasn’t said much since the split, but she did speak out ahead of her highly-anticipated appearance on Alex Cooper‘s Call Her Daddy podcast on January 28. When asked by paparazzi what happened between her and James, she responded, “I think things will start to come out, and I’ll speak about it whenever I’m ready.” She continued, “For now, I’m just protecting my peace.”
The person on the other end of the clip wasn’t truly satisfied by her response and followed with, “Was it infidelity?” She quickly divulged that “no,” cheating wasn’t involved in the ending of their seemingly picture-perfect relationship.
The former couple were together for four years before they decided to call it quits. James announced their breakup in an Instagram post. Alongside a photo of the first time they met, he wrote, “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔.”
Ending the clip with the question of whether or not they could potentially get back together, Kirkconnell firmly stated, “No.” She shook her head clarifying that rekindling their romance isn’t something that’s plausible.
