Are Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Getting Engaged? Couple Shares New Update
After nearly three years together, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are looking to the future. While discussing the end of pal Matt James‘ relationship with Rachael Kirkconnell on their Amy & T.J. podcast, the couple opened up about when they plan to get engaged.
Holmes asked his girlfriend how “much time” he had to propose before she started getting antsy, prompting her to respond by explaining what she expects from their future.
“We’re not on the same kind of timeline [as Kirkconnell and James], and I won’t put you on one,” Robach confirmed. “I’ll let you know when…” After a long pause, she added, “When it’s the moment I feel like it needs to happen.”
Holmes wanted to know “how much of a heads up” he would get, but she wasn’t able to provide an exact answer. “I don’t know. I actually can’t speak on that in any real way. I’m not anywhere close. We watch the show called The Ultimatum, and I would never do that. I just feel like at a certain point, if it runs its course, it runs its course, but I don’t think pressure should ever be part of a decision.”
She also assured Holmes that he was “fine” on time and shouldn’t rush to pop the question. “We do check in [about it],” she told listeners. “I told you already, I don’t need a proposal in any certain amount of time, but I have made it clear that I do want to move in with you.”
He agreed that moving in together wouldn’t be an issue, then asked for clarity on when she was expecting him to pop the question. “I actually don’t even expect a proposal,” Robach admitted. “We’ve talked about it. We’ll make the decision. We’re grown ass adults, so I think that we’ll make the decision to get married together. I’m not expecting a proposal at all.”
When Holmes asked one last time what she thought the timeline was on making that decision, she responded, “I think we’re getting close.” She also reiterated that she does want to tie the knot with him at some point, which she’d made clear in the past.
Both Robach and Holmes have been married before and have children from past relationships. Earlier this month, he promised her, “Let me declare here publicly that I love you, and we are still going strong, and I still want to marry you.”
