‘Bridgerton’ Author Teases Book Fans Are ‘Gonna Love’ Season 4

Bridgerton‘s fourth season continues to come together behind the scenes at Netflix, and while fans wait on the arrival of Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) love story with Sophie (Yerin Ha), author Julia Quinn is teasing something fans can look forward to.

The writer behind the book series, upon which Shondaland’s Netflix hit is based, spoke to The Charlotte Observer about Bridgerton‘s success, its forthcoming season, and more. In a chat with CharlotteFive, Quinn offered fans a peek behind the curtain with an update on her reaction to the latest chapter of the TV adaptation so far.

When asked if she could tease any details, Quinn told the outlet, “Oh gosh. No. You know, I would get in so much trouble if I said anything.”

While she couldn’t get specific about details, Quinn did note, “The scripts that I’ve read, I love. I’m really excited about the whole thing. I think I can say people who really like the book — which is An Offer from a Gentleman which is the third book in the series — I think they’re gonna love the show.”

For those less acquainted with Quinn’s novel, An Offer From a Gentleman follows the fairytale-like romance between Benedict and Sophie who meet at his mother’s masquerade ball. Unbeknownst to Benedict, though, Sophie is crashing the party and doesn’t hail from the same social class.

Playing out like a Cinderella story, An Offer From a Gentleman leans into the love at first sight trope, which book fans are surely eager to see depicted onscreen. Season 4 leads Thompson and Ha have also teased their characters’ fateful meeting at the masquerade in promos for the latest chapter’s production.
