’The Bachelorette’ Shocker! Season 22 Delayed — When Will It Return?

Sorry, Bachelor Nation fans. The Bachelorette won’t be returning this summer for Season 22.
The show usually films earlier in the year before airing in July. Aside from the three-year wait between Seasons 3 and 4, new seasons of The Bachelorette have aired every year since its 2002 premiere.
ABC has put the female-focused spinoff on pause in 2025, Deadline reports. However, the dating series has “not been canceled and will likely come back” to the network “in the future.” The show is “unlikely to air this year but insiders have not completely ruled out its return later this year.” The network has not revealed why the show is on pause for 2025. Swooon has reached out to ABC for comment.
The Bachelor Season 29, with lead Grant Ellis, is currently airing. Usually, the lead of the next season of The Bachelorette is chosen from The Bachelor and vice versa. Ellis was one of Jenn Tran‘s suitors on The Bachelorette. Tran was a contestant on Joey Graziadei‘s season of The Bachelor.
Tran’s season of The Bachelorette ended in heartbreak. She got engaged to winner Devin Strader in the finale, but their relationship fell apart leading up to the After the Final Rose special. After confronting her ex in front of the world, Tran was cast as a last-minute contestant on Dancing With the Stars. She was paired up with Sasha Farber, and romance rumors quickly started swirling. They played coy about what was really going on between them, but they have since confirmed their relationship — for the most part.
While The Bachelorette won’t be airing this summer, Bachelor In Paradise is set to return for its milestone 10th season. The Mexico-set spinoff didn’t air in 2024, which prompted many fans to wonder if the show had been canceled. ABC renewed the series for Season 10 in July 2024.
