Is Monica Lewinsky Married? Inside Her Dating Life After Bill Clinton Affair Scandal

Monica Lewinsky became one of the most famous women of the 1990s after her affair with former President Bill Clinton was exposed. Lewinsky, who was a 21-year-old intern when the affair began, faced relentless public scrutiny in the aftermath of the sex scandal.
Lewinsky opened up about that dark period of her life in the latest episode of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. Looking back, the 51-year-old said Clinton didn’t handle the situation properly. “I think that the right way to handle a situation like that would have been to probably say it was nobody’s business and to resign,” she said. “Or to find a way of staying in office that was not lying and not throwing a young person who was just starting out in the world under the bus.”
In the years since the scandal, Lewinsky has become a writer and activist, notably speaking out against cyberbullying. But what about her personal life? Swooon is taking a deep dive into Lewinsky’s relationship history after her affair with the former commander-in-chief.
Has Monica Lewinsky been married?
Lewinsky has never been married. In 2021, she admitted that she prefers to keep her personal life out of the public eye, given what she’s gone through in the past. “I kinda feel if anybody has earned a right to have their romantic life private, it’s me,” Lewinsky told PEOPLE at the time. “Those relationships are very precious to me, even the one or two who turned out to be putzes. But I’ve learned a lot.”
She added, “I do date. I’m not married yet. I don’t know if that will happen or not, and I’m more okay with that than I used to be.”
Is Monica Lewinsky dating anyone?
Lewinsky appears to be single as of now. She has not disclosed any details about a possible romantic partner.
Her last-known boyfriend was Jeff Boggs in 2000. She famously went on a date with CNN anchor Jake Tapper in 1997. “It was a first date, one I wasn’t sure would be followed by a second, and how was I to know that the woman on the other side of the table would set the presidency into seismic rumblings?” Tapper wrote in an article for the Washington City Paper in 1998 after the affair scandal broke.
What did Monica Lewinsky say about her affair with Bill Clinton?
In addition to saying that Clinton should have resigned after the affair scandal, Lewinsky also discussed the power imbalances between them. “There’s a level of consensuality that was there, and at the same time, because of the power dynamics and the power differential, I never should’ve f**king been in that position,” she said on the Call Her Daddy podcast. When asked what advice she’d give her 22-year-old self, she quipped, “Do not go to Washington.”

Lewinsky was thrust into the public eye as Paula Jones sued the president on sexual harassment charges. She initially denied having a sexual relationship with Clinton, but her Pentagon co-worker Linda Tripp had been secretly recording their conversations where she talked about the affair. After Lewinsky was questioned by FBI agents and offered immunity in exchange for her cooperation, Clinton famously denied the allegations. “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky,” he said. He later admitted to the extramarital affair in a closed-door testimony. Following the release of the Starr Report, Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998 for lying under oath and obstruction of justice but was acquitted of all charges in 1999.
Back in 2021, Lewinsky opened up about her mindset when she crossed paths with Clinton. “For me, at 22 there was this combination of the awe of being at the White House, the awe of the presidency and the awe of this man who had an amazing energy and charisma was paying attention to me. I was enamored with him, like many others. He had a charisma to him — and it was a lethal charm and I was intoxicated,” she told PEOPLE.
At the time, she admitted that she no longer needed an apology from him. “If I had been asked five years ago, there would have been a part of me that needed something — that still wanted something. Not any kind of relationship, but a sense of closure or maybe understanding. And I feel incredibly grateful not to need any of that,” she said.
Does Monica Lewinsky have kids?
Lewinsky does not have any children. “I was somebody who had wanted to get married and have kids, and I’m sort of past that point of having kids naturally, so I think that was a focus for a long time, but it was definitely … my dating life has been complicated, I think, at times,” she said on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
