Gia Giudice & Boyfriend Christian Carmichael Reveal Details of Their Secret Breakup
Fans of the Real Housewives of New Jersey are well acquainted with Teresa Giudice‘s daughter, Gia Giudice, and her boyfriend, Christian Carmichael — but they don’t know the whole story of their relationship.
Opening up on her new podcast Casual Chaos, the 24-year-old detailed the ups and downs the two have had in the past. During the episode, Giudice even dropped a bombshell. Aware that most of the audience has only known them as a loved-up item, it was a shocking revelation that they were in an on-again-off-again relationship for a while. They even broke up at one point.
The couple met when Giudice was a freshman at Rutgers University. Carmichael had a unique idea for a first date – going to Florida together. Spending a week alongside each other, the item hadn’t made things official yet, but that didn’t mean they were casual.
After their getaway, they quickly started dating. The first round of their relationship lasted for quite some time. “We dated for a year and a half or two,” Carmichael divulged. They were solid until May of her junior year, but Giudice revealed that issues in their relationship started earlier than that. “It started getting foggy in February. Hnestly, it was after my date night that it all went downhill,” she said, referring to a sorority event. “He was basically just immature. Very immature.”
Carmichael confirmed Giudice’s assessment. “I was too immature and communication was horrible, and I had no drive,” he said.
Diving into the main problem that bothered Giudice at that time, Carmichaels confessed, “The reason we broke up was because I was immature. Basically, [my] communication was horrible. I was always with my friends, and I had no drive, you always said. I didn’t have my first job until I was 21… You hated that.
All of that changed when Giudice ended their relationship. She recalled, “Then we break up and he gets a job.” Carmichael corrected her, “Two jobs.” Thinking back on that in-between period, the influencer stated, “That was basically why I broke up with him, and then he just obviously was doing everything to show me that he was growing as a person.”
Giudice and Carmichael were still hooking up after their split, and they eventually found their way back to each other. “Then we got back together after like 6 [or] 7 months and we’ve been together ever since then,” Giudice admitted.
