Teddi Mellencamp has been candid about her recent brain cancer diagnosis, which she received just months after she announced her separation from husband Edwin Arroyave. But is she putting her love life on the back burner while dealing with the illness?

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum opened up about what dating is looking like for her these days, as well as the surprising living situation she and Arroyave have.

Mellencamp is still making time for dating amid her illness. She told Us Weekly that she’s meeting men on Hinge, noting that Raya still hasn’t taken her off the waitlist. “I realize that maybe I’m slightly controversial, but I’d appreciate you letting me in ’cause I’ve seen some of the other people [on there] and they seem like even bigger trainwrecks than me,” Mellencamp joked.

The mom of three announced in November 2024 that she was planning on divorcing Arroyave, and she said she’s been on dates with two guys since then. “The first one asked me if I wanted to have more kids, and I was like, ‘I’m in the hospital. This isn’t really the right time, bud. I have a head wrap on. I just learned my own birth date,'” Mellencamp explained. “But the other guy is super nice, super sweet, kind. Exactly what I need right now.”

Following Mellencamp’s diagnosis, she and Arroyave put “everything on hold” with their divorce. “[It] wasn’t really the time to be fighting over emails,” she admitted. “He’s been extremely kind and helping with the kids. That’s made things a lot easier.”

In fact, the two are even living under the same roof with their kids, albeit in separate bedrooms. “I’m in the primary, and he’s in one of the guest rooms,” Mellencamp shared. “It’s fun. It’s all the things that I loved about our marriage but without all the problems.”

Arroyave has also been by her side in the difficult days that followed her February brain tumor surgery (doctors have since found four more tumors on her brain). “If any part of this was for a reason, the second that I got sick, he completely changed,” Mellencamp gushed. “It’s a silver lining.
He’s been there for me a hundred percent, he’s been there for the kids, and we’re back to laughing. We call it the ‘Divorce Chronicles.'”

However, she still acknowledged that they aren’t going to be together romantically. “I want to talk [to him] about the kind of girls [he’s] going to marry… because if these people are going to take care of my kids, this is what I want, and this is the definition of what I don’t want,” she shared.
