What To Know

  • Elise Benson and Joshua Lawson are featured on Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.
  • Elise made her 90 Day Fiancé debut on Hunt for Love Season 1.
  • During an interview with Swooon, Elise teased an “unpredictable” finale.

90 Day Fiancé alum Elise Benson and her boyfriend Joshua Lawson were the last couple to join the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 8 cast. However, ahead of the Tell All, it’s clear that they may be the season’s most dramatic couple. From Josh’s boat crash putting his job in jeopardy to Elise’s shocking reaction to Josh’s relationship with his female friend, Nat, there have been few calm moments for this messy couple.

Fans may remember Elise from her first 90 Day Fiancé appearance on the first season of the spinoff, 90 Day: Hunt for Love. While she formed strong connections with both Carlo Nowlan and Tim Malcolm, she ultimately left the resort single. Lucky for us, nearly a year after Hunt for Love, Elise decided to share her newest connection with 90 Day fans.

Ahead of the season, Elise’s 90 Day bestie, Cortney Reardanz, who is currently on this season of 90 Day: The Single Life, told Swooon that she warned Elise, “You’re probably gonna fall in love because you’re going to another country, you’re fully dependent on this person,” before the season. Did her prediction become a reality?

Scroll to find out all about Elise and Joshua’s relationship, including whether they’re still together today, how they met, what’s going on with their living situation, and more. (Warning: Potential spoilers below!)

Are Elise Benson and Joshua Lawson still together today?

Ahead of the end of the season, Elise and Josh are still going strong. At this time, Elise and Josh have not confirmed their post-show relationship status. However, the couple frequently posts photos from their time in Sydney together on their Instagram Stories, indicating that they’re at least on good terms. Elise also posted a photo that seemed to hint that Josh got an “Elise” tattoo on his hand. Only time will tell if that permanent gesture is real or not.

During Episode 15, Elise woke up to Josh having left their apartment without saying goodbye. While he eventually returned, saying that he was doing something for work, the whole ordeal sent Elise spiraling. She told viewers, “I don’t know what the f**k is going on with him… I want to go home.” To make matters worse, when he returned and saw Elise crying, he left again! Yikes!

A few episodes later, Elise called out Josh’s relationship with Nat in front of the entire bar, causing a major rift in their relationship. She told Swooon that she’s been trying to rebuild trust with Josh ever since, leading to an “unpredictable” finale.

Why do Elise and Joshua live with his friend Chris?

Now, here’s the question we’ve all been asking: Why did Josh rent an apartment with his friend, Chris, to welcome his girlfriend to Australia? While Josh previously told Elise he was living with his parents prior to her arrival, he later confessed that he was actually living with his female friend, Nat, instead. While it seems like Josh’s friend Chris may have just wanted to be on TV, Josh explained that their roommate situation is strictly financial.

During Episode 12 of Before the 90 Days Season 8, Josh explained, “I’m sort of between places at the moment. But my girlfriend Elise is coming, and I want a nice place for her, so my friend and I, Chris, have a rental that we have organized for when she gets here.” Naturally, Elise wondered why Josh didn’t just ask her to split the rent for her visit instead of welcoming a third wheel into their relationship.

How did Elise and Joshua meet?

According to TLC, Elise and Joshua met through Instagram after her time on Hunt for Love. She revealed that he DM’d her first, writing, “Hey, how are you? I saw you on an IG page and had to follow you!” For Elise, it’s become clear that she’s “exhausted” every romantic option in Miami, so an international match is a perfect option. She told her parents, “It might be silly of me, but, like, I really like him, and I want to go.”
