Mark Consuelos Calls Kelly Ripa ‘Sexy’ in 29th Anniversary Tribute
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are a Hollywood couple that has truly beaten the odds. After eloping on May 1, 1996, the couple has officially been married for 29 years.
They celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary with Instagram tributes to each other, and Consuelos noted in his caption that he’s definitely still smitten with his wife of nearly three decades.
“Happy 29th anniversary sexy,” he wrote, alongside a slideshow of photos of him and Ripa from over the years. Meanwhile, Ripa posted a throwback photo and recent photo of the couple in Italy, which she captioned, “Italian Renaissance. Amore eterno ❤️ 🇮🇹 Happy 29th Anniversary @instasuelos!”
Ripa and Consuelos met on the set of All My Children in 1995 and began dating. After they broke up in 1996, they were forced to reunite to tape an episode of Live With Regis and Kathie Lee together. Coincidentally, they now host the same show Live With Kelly and Mark together.

Of the reunion, which eventually led to their immediate romantic reconciliation, Consuelos explained to People, “We had to be here. And we both tried to get out of it, but we both ended up being here on this stage. Obviously, seeing her, it was like, ‘This is the worst decision of my life. I have to be with her forever.’ And I asked her to marry me and we flew to Vegas the next day.”
Following the wedding, the couple went on to welcome three children. Their eldest son, Michael, was born in June 1997, followed by daughter Lola in June 2001, and son Joaquin in February 2003.
Now that the stars work together, they’re fine with spending their off hours apart. In fact, it’s actually helped their marriage, Ripa recently admitted. While discussing Consuelos’ newfound love for golf, he revealed, “She’s like, ‘You’re go to be gone for five hours? Go!'”
