Married couple Jonathan Towns and Ava Towns are headed to the finale of The Amazing Race, but it hasn’t been without some controversy. For most of Season 37, Jonathan has faced backlash for how he’s treated his wife during the race.
Jonathan’s behavior has been deemed “passive aggressive” by fans. Viewers have called him “rude” and “immature,” while also declaring that his behavior gives “red flags.”

Are Jonathan and Ana Towns still together?
Yes, despite everything they went through on the race, Jonathan and Ana are still together. They have confirmed this with social media activity over the past year, including weekly episodes of their YouTube show The Road Less Traveled.
Jonathan has addressed his behavior on the show and revealed in an April 9 YouTube video that he’s been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) since filming The Amazing Race. He said he sought professional help after the show and learned why his communication skills were so off.
“Looking back at what I was seeing, and knowing what I know about myself now, it’s so hard for me to be supportive and helpful to somebody when my brain is in this overheated state,” Jonathan explained.

Not being able to control “external factors” in an environment like The Amazing Race triggered Jonathan’s “hyperactive brain” amid the competition.
In the comments section of the couple’s May 8 video, Jonathan responded to a fan and confirmed that he and his wife were still going strong. “I treated Ana very poorly while we were on the show and I understand how that can trigger a lot of strong emotions in people, but yes, we have come a long way since then,” he wrote. “Thank you for your support.”

Yes, Jonathan and Ana are the proud parents of two daughters. She is a stay-at-home mom, so she spends a lot of time with their kids.

“We described ourselves to our casting producer as ‘functionally dysfunctional,’ and it’s true,” Ana revealed on Instagram ahead of The Amazing Race Season 37. “We’re two complicated people in a complicated relationship, but our commitment to each other, to our children and to our future is never in question.”
