What To Know

  • Sean Reifel is an original cast member on Love Island USA Season 8.
  • He hails from Pennsylvania.
  • Sean has a young son.

Sean Reifel had a rocky start to Love Island USA Season 8. One day in, the former police officer found himself single and vulnerable after his original partner left him for a bombshell. He spent several episodes trying to find a new connection in the villa that could possibly lead to love — and keep him from being sent home.

“I would love to find someone willing to go through it with me,” Sean, who’s a father, said in a pre-show interview. “Every day wake up and choose each other and just give my son that loving home that I wanna give and then have more babies ’cause I love that s**t. I’m a loverboy. What’s better than love, right?” Scroll to get the latest updates on Sean, including all of the details about his career, son, and more. (Warning: Spoilers for Love Island USA Season 8 below!)

How old is Sean Reifel?

Sean is 29 years old, putting him on the older end of the cast. One of the newest Islanders, bombshell Corbin Mims, is 22 years old.

Where is Sean Reifel from?

Sean lives in Easton, Pennsylvania, though he’s from California. He was a member of the San José State football team, and his player bio lists his hometown as Oakley. He started his undergrad studies at Laney College.

What does Sean Reifel do for a living?

Sean most recently worked as a police officer in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he was sworn in in August 2025. “I love my job,” he said in a pre-premiere interview, later adding in Episode 1 that he’s been a cop for about six years. “It’s super cool. You feel like you made a difference. Someone ran into me in the street, and she was like, ‘Me and all my family forgot your name, so we call you Officer Sexy Pants. Officer Sexy Pants was a hit at work.'”

Though he talked about his job in the present tense in the villa, it seems Sean left his post to film Love Island. According to WHTM, Bethlehem Mayor J. William Reynolds said Sean had resigned. “Our police department spent a lot of time training, and we paid thousands of taxpayer dollars to send him to the police academy. We are disappointed he left, as we now have another vacancy in our department that is impossible to fill until next year,” Reynolds said. “I never thought I’d see the day in America where reality show participation wins out over being a police officer,” he added.

Police Chief Michelle Kott addressed Sean’s departure in an interview with The Morning Call. “I love Sean. He’s a good guy. Ge was a great officer, but I’m disappointed,” Kott said. “Just because we work so incredibly hard to try to recruit the best people we can to be part of the Bethlehem Police Department.”

Does Sean Reifel have kids?

Yes! His son, Ravello, was born in June 2024. “He’s not gonna hide [that he’s a father],” his sister said on TikTok. “He’s a really good dad, so that’s all.”

Sean’s sister was spot-on because Sean started bringing up fatherhood in his pre-show interviews and right away in Episode 1. “Had a baby that was not planned,” he said, explaining to the other Islanders in Episode 1 that he moved to Pennsylvania because it’s where the mother of his child is based. “The greatest thing that ever happened to me, though. Being told you’re a father was the craziest 180 for me. I’m so proud to be his dad. I try to just instill in him, ‘Daddy’s proud of you.’ The world could be against you, daddy f**king loves you.”

Why did Sean Reifel go home?

When push came to shove, Sean just didn’t solidify a connection by Episode 5’s recoupling. Sean paired up with fellow OG Beatriz Hatz on Day 1, who moved on with bombshell Gabriel Vasconcelos in Episode 2. After Sean and Kenzie Annis‘ partners were stolen by bombshells, they were left single and at risk of going home. Sean had conversations with Kenzie and Trinity Tatum afterward, but at the end of Episode 5, both women ended up in different couples. New bombshell Corbin Mims picked Kenzie first. Trinity was the last to pick, and she went with her Day 1 partner, Bryce Dettloff.

“I still wanted to explore the connection, but I was gonna pick Corbin,” Kenzie told the other Islanders. She added in a confessional, “It’s gonna be really hard not to see him every day.” Sean was the first Islander of Season 8 to be sent home.
