It wouldn’t be Love Island USA without its dramatic eliminations. The latest Islanders didn’t have long to feel secure in the villa, with the first dumping of Season 8 taking place just five episodes in. So, who went home on Love Island USA? (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

There have already been multiple bombshells and new twists in the first week, so it makes sense that the show closed it out with a dumping on Sunday, June 7. The Islanders haven’t had very long to form connections, but some are already stronger than others. We found out which ones held out in Episode 5, when host Ariana Madix instructed the Islanders to gather around the fire pit for the recoupling. It led to one of the OGs giving the rest of the group a sad goodbye.

Scroll to find out who went home in the latest episode — and get the full rundown on the drama that led to them getting dumped.

Sean Reifel (Episode 5)

The first Islander of the season to head home is 29-year-old police officer Sean Reifel. He coupled up with Beatriz Hatz in the first episode, but she chose to keep exploring other connections shortly after. It led to her being stolen by bombshell Gabriel Vasconcelos. Sean and Kenzie Annis were both single until Episode 5’s recoupling. New bombshell Corbin Mims picked Kenzie to couple up with. Then, the final pick was down to Trinity Tatum. Though Trinity had had a chat with Sean, she ultimately picked Bryce Dettloff, whom she’s been coupled up with since Episode 1.

“I still wanted to explore the connection, but I was gonna pick Corbin,” Kenzie told the other Islanders. She added in a confessional, “It’s gonna be really hard not to see him every day.” Sean was the first Islander of Season 8 to get dumped, but he certainly won’t be the last…
