‘Love Island USA’: What Is Paradise Cove? Season 8 Twist, Explained
What To Know
- Love Island USA introduced a new twist called Paradise Cove.
- It took place in Episode 2 of Season 8.
- It led to a throuple-y situation for the Islanders.
Love Island USA fans all know and love the Casa Amor twist, but it’s become an expected staple of the reality dating show. Love Island has to do something to keep frequent viewers, and the Islanders, for that matter, on their toes. As a result, we’ve seen several new elements thrown in every season, but Season 8 might take the cake as the wildest of all. And it arrived only two episodes in, which bodes for an interesting summer ahead.
Some of the Islanders — including Kayda, Zach, and Bryce — went to “Paradise Cove” in Episode 2, which led to some light throuple action. Yes, you read that right: throuple. As in, production put three Islanders in a bed together. Just when we think we know what to expect from the reality dating show, it goes and does something completely out of left field. But hey, we’re here for it. Keep reading for a full breakdown of the new Paradise Cove twist.
What is the Paradise Cove twist on Love Island USA?
At the end of Episode 1, two new bombshells arrived to whisk away two Islanders each. Kayda went with Zach and Bryce, while bombshell Gabriel took Beatriz and Trinity to a separate location. They went to a “brand-new island” called Paradise Cove, which is essentially a little hut, for 24 hours. A king-sized bed, for the bombshell to share with two other Islanders, took up most of the room.
The setup led to some pretty… interesting moments. At one point, bombshell Gabriel was making out with Beatriz for what seemed like minutes while Trinity perched silently on the bed next to them. In the other hut, bombshell Kayda started kissing Zach in the middle of the night, and Bryce angled for a kiss from her, too. “Sorry, you’re gonna be left out just tonight,” Kayda said. Talk about third-wheeling to the extreme.

Has Paradise Cove been on Love Island USA before?
We’ve seen love triangles form on Love Island USA, but Paradise Cove is new to Season 8. It’s essentially a mini Casa Amor, giving the bombshells access to certain Islanders away from their previous partners, but with three-way bed sharing.
