Jenny & Sumit Reveal New Life Update on ’90 Day: The Last Resort’

Fan favorite 90 Day Fiancé couple Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh are back on our screens for the new season of 90 Day: The Last Resort, and we are thrilled! From the premiere alone, it’s clear that the rest of the 90 Day stars are in the same boat, fangirling over meeting the beloved couple for the first time.
Of course, fans have been curious about why one of the franchise’s strongest couples is on 90 Day’s couples therapy series, which is targeted at relationships that could be heading towards divorce. During the June 1 premiere, Sumit explained, “Our marriage, it’s like a roller coaster. Lots of ups and downs.”
As fans saw during Season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Sumit’s family had a hard time accepting Jenny at first. Since then, Jenny gave viewers a major health update, but they’ve kept their family situation pretty private. During the premiere, she revealed, “Things are a little better now, but that’s put a lot of stress on our relationship.”
“My parents finally accepted our relationship, but since then, I lost my job,” Sumit recalled. “We couldn’t afford to live by ourselves. So, we moved in with my parents, and then we decided to start a family restaurant together.”
According to Sumit, Family Cafe didn’t exactly work out. He revealed, “[The] restaurant had a hard time getting up and running, and right now it’s closed.” Jenny fired back, “Going into business with his family was a bad idea, and now we’re still stuck living with his parents.” Giving him an ultimatum, she shared, “If we don’t move out, I’m leaving with or without you.”
The couple also opened up about some differences in their views on drinking. Jenny told viewers, “Since the cafe closed, Sumit has changed. He likes to party, and he likes his drinking.” Sumit confessed, “I just enjoy having a few drinks. It’s fun.” Looks like that’s one challenge they’ll be focusing on this season.

Ahead of the new season, Jenny revealed that she has been diagnosed with ALS at 67. Jenny wrote, “With a heavy heart we wanted to share [some] news with all of you guys. That, there was a rumor that I had a stroke, but it turned out to be ALS. At first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us.”
She continued, “We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it’s time to reach out. Thank you so much for all the love and support. Right now, we are open to any kind of help — treatments, clinical trials, lifestyle changes, or anything that could help treat this disease or slow down its progression.”
In the comments, the full 90 Day Fiancé family sent their love to the couple, including Kenny Niedermeier, who responded, “Oh my gosh, Jenny you are loved around the world, you, Sumit and your family are in my thoughts. Sending a huge hug.”
