90 Day Fiancé star Jenny Slatten gave fans a major update on May 19 amid ongoing concerns about her health. At 68, she has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Now that The Last Resort is here, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about the 90 Day star’s health.

In December 2025, Jenny came to New York City for a 90 Day Fiancé holiday party, stopping by Swooon‘s studio for an interview about her appearance with her husband, Sumit Singh, on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 7. Looking back at fan comments on that interview, which noted Jenny’s slowed speech pattern, People revealed, “After seeing her in an interview, some fans expressed concern for her health.” According to Sumit, he assumed she was tired from the flight. He told People, “I was thinking that maybe … Jenny didn’t even sleep.”

On social media, the couple shared, “With a heavy heart we wanted to share a news with all of you guys. That, there was a rumor that I had a stroke, but it turned out to be ALS. At first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us. We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it’s time to reach out. Thank you so much for all the love and support. Right now, we are open to any kind of help — treatments, clinical trials, lifestyle changes, or anything that could help treat this disease or slow down its progression.”

The duo first decided to look into ALS after a commenter suggested that Jenny could have the disease. “And then I find out that these symptoms she was having — this is what it looks like,” he revealed. As it turns out, Jenny’s late father had ALS as well.

Ahead of their appearance on 90 Day: The Last Resort Season 3, Jenny shared, “We’re doing what we can.” People revealed that they are actively “exploring possible treatments for the disease, which currently has no cure.”

Giving a message to fans, who have loved the couple since their first appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 1 in 2019, Jenny shared, “I don’t want to be treated any different. Let’s just live our life as we have been while we can.”

According to Sumit, Jenny’s diagnosis has brought them closer than ever. “Honestly, I never felt this much love, or I can love anyone this much,” Sumit told People. “I used to … live for myself. But from [the] last so many years, I feel like doing [things] for someone who you love gives you happiness, I think that’s what love is. And that’s why we do things for each other, and that’s what make each other happy.”

Teasing Sumit and Jenny’s journey on The Last Resort, TLC shared, “Jenny and Sumit have been together for 15 years, balancing deep love with ongoing challenges. After seven years in India, Jenny has reached a breaking point amid rising tensions with Sumit’s increasingly involved parents. Though accepted by his family despite their huge age gap, their joint café venture failed, and their cramped living situation has only added strain. As issues of trust, control, and anger escalate, the couple finds their relationship under mounting pressure.” At this time, it is unclear whether the season was filmed before or after her official diagnosis.

“I truly appreciate all the love and support already being shown, and I know it will mean even more in the days ahead,” Jenny wrote to her social media followers, “But most importantly, please don’t treat me any differently, I’m still the exact same person I’ve always been. Thank you for standing by my side. It means more than I can put into words.”
