Armie Hammer & Elizabeth Chambers’ Relationship After His Scandal: Are They Still Together?
Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers met through mutual friends in 2006, but they didn’t start a romantic relationship until she broke up with the boyfriend she was dating at the time. They tied the knot in 2010 and celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in May 2020.
“TEN years married, twelve together, thirteen years as best friends,” Chambers, who is hosting the new docuseries Toxic on ID, wrote on Instagram at the time. “Happy Anniversary, my love. I’m beyond grateful for you, this decade, our family and the dreamiest Friday night anniversary sunset.”
However, less than a year later, things would crumble for the family when shocking allegations were made against Hammer, including an accusation of rape that a woman claimed took place in 2017 while the actor was married. So, where does he stand with Chambers now? Scroll down for more!
Are Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers still together?
No, the couple divorced in 2023. They actually announced their split in July 2020, months before allegations about Hammer came out.
“Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents,” the exes said in a joint statement. “It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage. As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority. We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time.”
The divorce was finalized in June 2023. “I went through a very public divorce that was riddled with scandal,” Chambers said on Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise the following year. “Stories were coming out each day and horrific articles, and I was learning about them as it happened.”
She admitted that it wasn’t “easy” to go through the ordeal and added, “The life that we had planned for years basically shattered. That was a really painful period of time.”

Yes, they are parents to a daughter, Harper, born in 2015, and a son, Ford, born in 2017.
“They have — thank God — no idea about what is going on,” Chambers said on a 2024 episode of Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise. “My children are visibly happy. They should think that their dad is a superhero. And to be fair, he has been to them. He’s been the best he can be.”

The family quarantined in the Cayman Islands in 2020, and Chambers stayed there with the kids for a bit before relocating back to Los Angeles.
Chambers added, “I don’t speak negatively about him in the press. I don’t speak negatively about him to my children. Because nobody wants a daughter with daddy issues, and nobody wants a son with daddy issues. They should think their dad’s a superhero. And that’s a beautiful thing that I will never, ever, ever diminish or take away.”
In a May 2025 interview on Today, Chambers opened up about coparenting with Hammer. “I don’t love that word coparenting, right?” she said. “I think we’re just parents and everyone is just parenting as well as they can with what they have. Our family is, again, so strong and better than ever. But for me, divorce in itself is just trauma.”
What did Armie Hammer do?
Allegations against Hammer first came to light in January 2021 when an anonymous social media account leaked his alleged text messages where he spoke about cannibalistic urges and more. The woman behind the account came forward that March and said she had a four-year on-and-off relationship with Hammer, and accused him of “mentally, emotionally, and sexually” abusing her. Other women also spoke of alleged misconduct involving Hammer.
He denied all the claims against him at the time and said that his relationship with the woman was “completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.”
That December, Hammer’s rep confirmed that he had completed work at a treatment facility for drug and alcohol issues.
The Social Network star broke his silence on the allegations in an interview with Air Mail in February 2023. He said he was sexually abused by a youth pastor as a child, which “introduced sexuality into [his] life in a way that it was completely out of [his] control.”
Hammer admitted to being emotionally abusive in relationships. “I would have these younger women in their mid-20s, and I’m in my 30s,” he shared. “I was a successful actor at the time. They could have been happy to just be with me and would have said yes to things that maybe they wouldn’t have said yes to on their own. That’s an imbalance of power in the situation.”
He also confirmed that he was in a relationship with the woman who accused him of rape from 2016 to 2017 and said they continued communicating via text message until 2020.
Hammer was investigated for sexual assault in April 2023, but one month later, it was revealed that no charges would be brought up against him. “Due to the complexity of the relationship and inability to prove a non-consensual, forcible sexual encounter we are unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office’s director of communications said.
