Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Make Rare Comments About Their First Marriages

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were both going through divorces when they got together in 2022, but it wasn’t either of their first experiences with ending a marriage. Both journalists were married before that, and they discussed those first marriages on the recent episode of their I Do, Part 2, podcast.
The couple gave context to those past relationships, including how long they were dating before getting engaged and walking down the aisle.
“I was so young,” Robach admitted. “But it was a year. It was a year engagement.” Robach said she dated her first husband, Tim McIntosh, for a year before they got engaged, then was engaged to him for a year before they tied the knot in 1996.
Robach and McIntosh welcomed two daughters during their relationship and divorced in 2008. Her romance with her second husband, Andrew Shue, was much more of a whirlwind.
“Second time, this is a little embarrassing,” she admitted. “I got engaged after [laughs], let me see, hold on. Four months. I got engaged after four months. And I got married after 10 months of meeting him.” The exes wed in February 2010 and separated in 2022.
Holmes then referenced how long he and Robach have been dating without a proposal, joking, “You really thought I was dragging my feet then!”
As for his romantic past, Holmes said he dated his second wife, Marilee Fiebig, for two years before they got engaged. The exes tied the knot in 2010, had two children, and split in 2022. Prior to that, he was married to Amy Ferson, whom he dated for “probably a year” before popping the question. They were married from 2004 to 2007 and have one child.
“What’s the third one going to be?” Robach teased. “Tick tock. Tick tock. I’m kidding.”
The former GMA3: What You Need to Know cohosts have openly talked about their plans to get engaged one day, but Robach told her partner that she won’t be pressuring him with a timeline. For now, the two are living together in New York.
