‘Farmer Wants a Wife’s Matt & Chelsi Give Update on Moving and Engagement Plans
Matt Warren and Chelsi Davis are finally out in the open after the finale of Farmer Wants a Wife, but where is their relationship headed next?
The couple gave an update on how things are going and their future plans while appearing on the I Do, Part 2, podcast with Bachelor Nation alum Bob Guiney.
Warren and Davis are not rushing an engagement and are on the “same page” about taking things slow. “This whole thing is hyped up to jump out there and be like, ‘We’re together, we’re in love,’ and go along with that narrative, which I’m not saying that’s not the case, but I think we are both just being very careful and take it easy with the direction that we’re going with this and making sure we really get to know each other and all these details about each other you don’t learn on the show. The kind of stuff that takes time to develop.” Warren explained.
Since filming ended about eight months ago, Warren and Davis have been navigating their long-distance relationship (she’s in Texas and he’s in California). “Luckily, we have a direct flight from my city to Dallas, so that makes it 10 times easier to see each other,” Warren confirmed. “All the traveling I’ve been doing for press, I try to always put my connection through Dallas so we can spend a little time together there.”
He added that “it goes to show how much we do care about each other because it’s been eight months, and we’re still here.”
So far, they don’t have any plans to move in together, but are prioritizing splitting their time between both Texas and Cali. They’ve spent time with each other’s family and friends, too. “We’re both very social,” Davis pointed out. “We have big friend groups and big families, and that’s very important to us.”
At the end of the day, the couple said they’re focused on their relationship and not the outside noise. “Whether it be six months or a year down the road, people are going to forget about this show, and her and I are more important, our relationship,” Warren pointed out.
“So there’s definitely pressure, and especially lately, it’s come out that it’s her and I, that she was the one, so it’s like, we have to give an answer. I said the same thing as I did back [on the show]: We can do what we want because our relationship comes first.”
