Are HGTV’s Nicole Curtis & Ryan Sawtelle Still Together?
Around the same time that Rehab Addict aired its final season before a lengthy hiatus, host Nicole Curtis found love again. She started dating Ryan Sawtelle in 2018.
“My heart is happy and having him near me brings a calm I’ve never known,” she told People the following year, adding, “He’s handsome, he makes me proud, he makes me laugh and we sing every song that comes on together: him in perfect pitch knowing every word, me, not even close!”

Are Nicole Curtis and Ryan Sawtelle still together?
No, the couple eventually broke up. Curtis confirmed news of the breakup while promoting Season 9 of Rehab Addict in June 2025, although she didn’t specify when the split happened.
Despite ending their relationship, the two remain on somewhat amicable terms. “We were together a long time, and I was very close to his family,” Curtis explained to People. “So we never really stayed out of contact. Your lives are so enmeshed.”
In fact, Sawtelle even filmed scenes for Rehab Addict after the split. “That is the worst idea I ever came up with. I’m just going to throw it out there,” Curtis admitted to TV Insider. She also added, “When you see us on camera, I mean if you’ve ever worked on a project with somebody you had a relationship with, you get it. There’s just those moments where it’s like, ‘Dude, I can’t take this one more second.'”
However, she said she and Sawtelle are “always friendly” and noted that “there is a reason [they’re] not together.”
Of her decision to include her ex on the new season of her show, which features her renovating a property in Wyoming, Curtis told People, “I didn’t know anyone in Wyoming, but I knew somebody near Wyoming, so I gave him a call. We just went out there together and checked out the house. It wasn’t anything else.”

Even though they were able to work together on the project, Curtis insisted there was no romantic reconciliation with Sawtelle.
“There was definitely no reconciliation,” she shared. “Or [a] ‘Maybe this was a mistake not being together.’ No, no, no. Us going separate paths was 100% the best idea we ever had.”
Do Nicole Curtis and Ryan Sawtelle have kids?
No, but Curtis has two children from previous relationships. She shares her oldest son, Ethan, born in 1997, with ex Steven Cimini. In 2015, she and ex Shane Maguire welcomed son Harper.
The boys will not appear on Season 9 of Rehab Addict. “I learned my lesson,” Curtis admitted. “I think there’s one gift we can give our children, and I give them privacy. They’re out in public with me a lot, and I shield them. My son, [Ethan], when we first started the TV show years ago, we didn’t have all the social media presence. He was in sixth grade, he thought it was cool, and his buddies thought it was cool to be on TV. And they still make fun of him because they’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, we can see you as a young boy, you had braces,’ and all this. But I won’t do that again. My boys are my most precious, precious things in the entire world to me.”
Is Nicole Curtis dating anyone?
In her interview with People, Curtis said she wasn’t going to be sharing her current romantic status.
“I keep my private life private and because I think there’s been some very traumatic moments in my life that weren’t so private,” she explained. “Another lesson learned. I tell people all the time, if you’re in my circle, then you know what’s going on in my life. Other than that, I stay pretty mute about everything.”
