Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Split, End Engagement After 9 Years Together

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have called it quits. More than nine years after the stars first got together in early 2016, they’ve ended their relationship.
The former couple, who share a daughter named Daisy, got engaged in February 2019, but never made it down the aisle.
Us Weekly confirmed news of the split on June 25. “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” the outlet’s source said. “It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
This is not the first time that Perry and Bloom have take a relationship hiatus. In 2017, they confirmed that they had broken up after one year of dating. However, by February 2018, they were back together and Bloom went on to propose the following year. Perry gave birth to Daisy in August 2020.
In the weeks leading up to the breakup confirmation, there was buzz online of trouble in paradise between Perry and Bloom. The singer is currently on an international tour, and sightings of Bloom at her shows have been few and far between. Perry and Bloom made their last red carpet appearance together in March at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
The exes were reportedly supposed to tie the knot in Japan during summer 2020 but had to postpone their big day due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to People.
In February 2022, Perry gave an update on the planning process and shared that new COVID-19 variants were still putting a damper on them solidifying anything. “It’s a destination location that like, you know, we’re still trying for it to work out,” she explained on the Kyle & Jackie O radio show. “But every couple of months it’s like, ‘New variant! New variant! New variant!'”
As of summer 2024, the two were still planning on walking down the aisle. “I have a really large credit at a venue that I am going to use,” Perry confirmed. She even revealed that she already had her wedding dress picked out when she and Bloom had to cancel their original wedding. “I was pregnant then, so the dress is different now. We are going to rework the whole thing,” she added.
