‘Duck Dynasty’s Bella Robertson Makes Rare Comments About Marriage Amid Infertility Journey
For the first time, Bella Robertson is going in-depth while speaking about her infertility journey. She appeared on her sister Sadie Robertson‘s WHOA That’s Good podcast, where she spoke about her marriage to Jacob Mayo and their struggle to conceive.
Bella and Jacob tied the knot in June 2021, and although they initially weren’t ready to have kids right away, she went off birth control six months later because she was told it would take about another six months for her body to regulate. About a year into the marriage, they did start trying, to no avail.
Three years later, they still don’t have a reason for why Bella hasn’t been able to get pregnant and are experiencing “unexplained infertility.” The couple has tried fertility treatments and even explored surgery.
“We’ve done everything under the sun,” Bella shared. “We’ve drank all the crazy drinks and teas, eat super healthy, take our vitamins and things like that, but we just haven’t found any answers.”
Despite this struggle, Bella said the “best thing to have come out of” the situation has been how strong her marriage is. “I hope I’m not unrelatable to some people who this is so had on their marriage, because that can be the case for some people, but I do feel like, for us, it has just been a place where we’re both going through the exact same thing at the exact same time,” Bella explained. “We are in this together. When I win, I win. When I lose, you lose.”
The Duck Dynasty star said dealing with infertility has been “extremely beneficial” in uniting her and her husband. “Jacob has a very beautiful way of going through life, laughing at hard things, and most people don’t see this, but he can be very serious and also very comforting,” she continued. “One of the great things is that he is able to laugh, and like I mentioned before, we just laugh through drinking teas and all the things.”
She praised Jacob for his “it is what it is attitude” and said he’s been “the best” at supporting her. “These four years have been the best of my life,” Bella gushed. “I think if it wasn’t for Jacob, these could have been the worst, but they really have been the best. We’ve gone on all these trips, we’ve traveled, we’ve done so many different things together and we’ve had so much fun.”
She pointed out that she wouldn’t be able to do these things if she had kids at home. “I think that he’s made this really be the best time of my life,” Bella revealed.
