‘Love Island USA’: Is Movie Night Not Happening? What We Know
Love Island USA Season 7 is nearing its end — the finale is June 13 — and fans have been wondering what that means for the future of Movie Night.
Movie Night is a more recent development for the reality dating franchise. In 2021, the first-ever Movie Night occurred across the pond during Love Island UK Season 7. A couple of years later, Love Island USA brought the twist to Season 5. Since then, it’s been a key moment in the show, testing the couples’ bonds before they enter the final stretch.
But with the way things have been going, it’s been looking like Love Island USA would skip over Movie Night entirely. Following the July 11 episode, it appears we have our answer about Movie Night’s fate. Scroll down to learn more.
What is Movie Night on Love Island USA?
As you might’ve guessed from its name, the producers come up with a compilation of clips from the season and show them to the whole group. The Islanders find out what their fellow contestants have said and done behind their backs. Usually, the Islanders have some important revelations, causing some connections to fizzle out.
Will Love Island USA Season 7 have Movie Night?
Peacock hasn’t clarified if Movie Night is on the Love Island USA schedule, but all signs point to no. There’s just not enough time at this rate!
In Season 6, the event was separated into two parts: Episodes 26 and 27. Before that, Movie Night ran from Episodes 27 to 28. We’re currently 34 episodes into Season 7, and the finale is on July 13. It doesn’t make much sense to put the Islanders through the wringer at this point. The final four couples are established, and there won’t be any more bombshells entering the villa.
Why wasn’t there a Movie Night in Season 7?
It’s unclear why Love Island USA producers skipped Movie Night in Season 7. We’ll likely learn why after the season is over. Many fans missed Movie Night and wished the show had made a different call. “Movie night would have still been very useful. Showed everyone’s true feelings, cleared some names, shown growth,” one fan wrote on Reddit. Another added, “It’s literally the Super Bowl of Love Island. They’re robbing us of chaos!”
