‘The Bachelor’: Would You Rather a New or Returning Face For Season 30? (POLL)
For years, the leads on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have (mostly) come from previous seasons of the shows. Of course, there have been exceptions, like when Matt James was selected to lead Season 25 despite never previously being on The Bachelorette.
But still, James had a connection to the franchise through longtime friend Tyler Cameron. In fact, before he was selected as The Bachelor lead, he was supposed to be a contestant on Clare Crawley‘s season of The Bachelorette, which was delayed due to COVID-19.
With Bachelor Nation trying to keep things fresh, there have been hints that the show might look outside of its previous pool to cast the lead for Season 30. Earlier this week, it was confirmed that The Bachelor would return with a new showrunner, Scott Teti, who is also the head of Bachelor in Paradise Season 10. Now, a new casting call seems to reveal that ABC is looking for a new guy to be the face of Season 30 as well.
“Wyldside Media is now casting for the next Bachelor Season 30,” the Instagram post says, clarifying in the caption, “Yes, the actual guy handing out roses. Yes, it could be your hot friend. Yes, it could be you. Yes, you can nominate him below. You’re welcome.” The caption also includes instructions for how to apply, along with the zinger, “Tag him before he ends up on Love Island.”
Generally, The Bachelor lead is chosen from one of the rejected men on the previous season of The Bachelorette. However, The Bachelorette is taking a hiatus in 2025, which leaves the door open for a newbie. Of course, there may still be some single men from Jenn Tran‘s season in 2024 who could be in the running, or even alums who become fan-favorites after Bachelor in Paradise this summer, or possibly a vet from earlier on in the franchise (à la Arie Luyendyk Jr. in Season 22).
