What To Know

  • Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette was canceled by ABC just days before its scheduled March 22 premiere.
  • The show was pulled following a domestic violence scandal involving Taylor and her ex Dakota Mortensen.
  • Now that the dust has settled, a report claims that the episodes could still see the light of day.

Three months ago, Season 22 of The Bachelorette was supposed to premiere on March 22 on ABC. But just days before the big debut episode, the network decided to pull the show amid lead Taylor Frankie Paul’s legal issues.

The episodes have been left on the cutting room floor, with many fans wondering if they’ll ever see the light of day. ABC confirmed that The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise will be returning in 2027, but no updates on The Bachelorette have been confirmed.

However, a new report in June 2026 hinted that we could still see Season 22 this year. Scroll down for everything we know.

Is The Bachelorette Season 22 still airing?

While ABC has not revealed whether Season 22 will air, TMZ reported on June 24 that there’s an “excellent chance” it could premiere in July 2026. While the site reported that final plans are “not locked in” yet, it’s rumored that the episodes could begin airing in mid-July.

The decision to debut the season reportedly came amid Taylor’s attempt to repair her image following her controversies earlier this year (more on that below.)

Why was Taylor Frankie Paul’s season canceled?

One day after Before the First Rose aired, Taylor made headlines after police confirmed that there was an open “domestic assault investigation” that involved the reality star and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Both parties made allegations that the other got “physical” with them during an alleged February incident. It was also reported that Dakota called the Utah Division of Child and Family Services on his ex more than once.

Amid these new allegations, details of Taylor’s 2023 arrest resurfaced. At the time, she was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief, and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a minor. She was charged with aggravated assault and ordered to three years of probation.

The details of what happened during this domestic dispute were made public at the time, but on March 19, a video of what went down was released on TMZ, which prompted ABC to pull the season.

“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” a spokesperson said in a statement. The video showed Taylor throwing chairs at Dakota while one of her children was in the room.

Following the new allegations Dakota made against Taylor, he was granted temporary custody of their son, Ever. However, the two reached a new deal in April, which gave Dakota primary custody and allowed Taylor to have up to eight hours a week of supervised visitation.

The mandatory supervision mandate was lifted in June, with Taylor also given a midweek day (without sleepover) and alternating weekends with her son.

Taylor and Dakota have mutual restraining orders against one another that will last for three years.
