What Happened to Colt Johnson on ’90 Day: Hunt for Love?’ All About His Scary Injury

90 Day Fiancé fan favorite Colt Johnson took a spill during Episode 8 of 90 Day: Hunt for Love that had fans questioning everything from his future on the show to the likelihood of the reality star ever walking again.
On the July 21 episode of Hunt for Love, Colt’s closest romantic connection on the show, Cortney Reardanz, shared insight into the events surrounding Colt’s fall, his hospital visit, and the promise she made to the injured reality star.
According to Cortney, Colt was in her room at the Tulum resort just minutes before his fall and subsequent leg injury. She told her costars, “Yesterday, [Colt] came to my room. We have been having breakfast and chatting and stuff” every morning. That day, Cortney was preparing for her date with Usman “Sojaboy” Umar. When Colt left, Cortney was shocked to hear a “thud” right outside of her door.
“I looked out my door, and he’s lying on the ramp outside of my door,” the Hunt for Love star revealed. “It had just rained, so it’s slippery, and he fell.” Since Colt was completely silent, at first, all Cortney could think was, “Is this a joke? Is he playing a prank on me? What’s really happening?” However, she quickly learned that he had been injured.
After returning from the hospital where Colt was taken after his fall, Cortney confessed, “We’ve been telling the hospital I’m his wife so I could go in the rooms with him.” As it turns out, Colt’s leg was in such poor condition that he needed to be transferred to a bigger medical facility for a complex surgery with a specialist.

Before Colt was transported to Playa Del Carmen, Cortney made him a promise bigger than any TV show. She recalled, “He was telling me, ‘If I die under anesthesia, make sure Deb knows.'” As 90 Day fans know, Deb is Colt’s mother, Debra Johnson, who frequently appears in the franchise. Until she was making promises to talk with Deb about her son’s fate if something were to go wrong, Cortney shared, “I didn’t think about the death part and how serious it is.”
In a post on Instagram following the episode, Colt broke his silence on the injury. He told his followers, “The first hospital they took me, in Tulum, could not handle my injury so they moved me to Playa Del Carmen, an hour away. It was very dangerous because my fractures could have caused internal bleeding if moved too much.” He added, “Thankfully, the hospital I had my surgery in was very good and everyone there were very professional and kind to me. They treated me with the utmost care and made sure all my needs were met. I felt like I was very lucky to have such a great team work with me during this difficult period.”
As for Cortney, the Hunt for Love star told producers the day after Colt’s accident, “The past 24 hours have just been exhausting, emotionally. I feel like I’ve just been hit by a semi.” Caught in a love triangle between 90 Day’s favorite mama’s boy and Sojaboy, viewers will have to wait to see if Cortney chooses to stand by Colt’s side or venture off with Usman while he is away from the resort.
