Another movie romance has made its way off-screen! Ahead of the release of The Naked Gun reboot on August 1, Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson have been fueling speculation that their working relationship has turned into something more. Well, we finally have an answer about their relationship status!

Fans guessed that the two actors were an item as soon as they started promoting their police procedural spoof. They play love interests: Anderson’s Beth reports the murder of her brother to Neeson’s Detective Frank Drebin Jr. “Our chemistry was clear from the start,” Anderson told EW, who added that working with Neeson was “electric in a way.”

Now that their characters’ love story has translated into a real-life romance, Swooon is breaking down all the latest updates on this new and exciting relationship.

Are Pamela Anderson & Liam Neeson dating?

Anderson, 58, and Neeson, 73, are dating, according to People. The Naked Gun costars haven’t confirmed if their relationship is romantic or not themselves, but the outlet’s source says they’re “enjoying each other’s company” at the moment. “It’s a budding romance in the early stages. It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other,” the source added.

What have Pamela Anderson & Liam Neeson said about their relationship?

During their July 29 appearance on Today, Anderson and Neeson continued to be coy about their romance. They appeared to kiss before being “caught” by the cameras, and Anderson later brushed off answering whether or not she and Neeson were in a relationship. “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set, and we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors,” Neeson said. “And it was like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mold this. Let’s just let it breathe,’ and that’s what we did.”

Neeson and Anderson interviewed each other in July, and the former described his first impression of the Baywatch star. “I thought, ‘Oh my god, she is so easy on the eyes,’” Neeson remembered in People‘s video. “I was really taken with your ‘thereness.’ You were absolutely there. They was no [brushing me off], I knew we had kind of a chemistry from very early on.”

After filming their new movie, the duo expressed their mutual admiration for each other in 2024. Neeson even went as far as to say he was “madly in love” with Anderson, but in context, he seemed to mean it in a platonic capacity. “She’s just terrific to work with,” Neeson told People. “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”

Anderson echoed her costar’s sweet remarks. “He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience,” she said. “It was an absolute honor to work with him.”

They went on to describe their on-set dynamic. “[Neeson] sincerely looked after me — wrapped his coat around me when I was cold,” Anderson said, adding that she made bread and cookies for her costar and left them in his dressing room.

More recently, Anderson expanded on the nature of her connection with the 73-year-old actor for a July 8 EW cover story. “I think I have a friend forever in Liam, and we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he’s a good guy,” she said. “He’s a true artist.”

Who has Pamela Anderson dated in the past?

Both Anderson and Neeson have been in the public eye for decades, so they have extensive dating histories. In the case of The Last Showgirl actress, she’s also detailed her past loves in her memoir, Love, Pamela, and Netflix documentary, Pamela, A Love Story. Perhaps most famous is Anderson’s relationship with her ex-husband, Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee, after their sex tape was leaked during their three-year marriage. They divorced in 1998.

“We’re good friends; we’re getting better at co-parenting our kids,” she told People in 2015. They share two sons, Brandon and Dylan. “He’s such a supporter of mine, and I’m really happy we’re on such great terms. There’s a connection there that will always be.”

Before Lee, Anderson dated producer Jon Peters, Charles in Charge‘s Scott Baio, and surfer Kelly Slater. Afterward, she was linked to model Marcus Schenkenberg, and then came musician Kid Rock, whom she was married to briefly in 2006. The following year, the actress tied the knot with Rick Salomon. They annulled the marriage in 2008, remarried in 2014, and divorced in 2015. Most recently, Anderson struck up a romance with her security guard, Dan Hayhurst, whom she married in 2020. They divorced two years later.

Who was Liam Neeson married to?

The Taken actor announced his retirement from the dating scene in 2024. When People asked if he dates, Neeson said, “No, in a word. I’m past all that.” He most recently was linked to Freya St. Johnston, a public relations executive, from 2010 to 2012.

In the ’80s, Neeson dated his Excalibur costar Helen Mirren. “We were not meant to be together in that way, but we loved each other very, very much,” Mirren said of Neeson in 2022. “I love him deeply to this day. He’s such an amazing guy.”

Following that relationship, the actor dated Julia Roberts and Brooke Shields, who wrote in her memoir that Neeson proposed to her twice. “He came back after the first time he left me and asked me to marry him again,” she told People. “This was before he started to do a play [1993’s Anna Christie]. And I said, ‘No, no, no, because knowing you, you’ll probably fall in love with your next leading lady and marry her, so I’m leaving myself out of this.’ And I was dead right.”

Sure enough, Neeson went on to marry his Broadway costar and The Parent Trap actress Natasha Richardson in 1995. The couple had two sons, Micheál and Daniel, and were together until Richardson’s death in 2009.

“Those 16 years of being her husband taught me how to love unconditionally,” he wrote in a 2016 Facebook post. “We have to stop and be thankful for our spouses. Because, one day, when you look up from your phone, they won’t be there anymore. What I truly learned most of all is, live and love everyday like it’s your last. Because, one day, it will be.”
