‘Destination X’ Host Jeffrey Dean Morgan Reacts to Ally Bross & Mack Fitzgerald’s Surprise Romance

Destination X could be renamed Destination Romance at this point! Season 1 stars Ally Bross and Mack Fitzgerald recently confirmed they’re in a relationship after meeting on the set of the competition series.
Winner Rick Szabo may have walked away with $250,000, but Ally and Mack found something money can’t buy: love. Host Jeffrey Dean Morgan revealed his reaction to Ally and Mack’s romance, especially after witnessing Ally and Shayne Cureton together on the show.
“They seemed very couple-y in stuff they were doing on Instagram, I thought, two months ago,” Jeffrey told TV Insider when asked if he was surprised by Ally and Mack. “And Shayne was nowhere to be seen. And I was like, well, how long is this going to take for people to figure out?”
The Walking Dead: Dead City star called the relationship “awesome” and admitted that he “never would’ve guessed” Ally and Mack would end up together. “I did not see the coupling coming at all. Not even close,” he added.
During the season, Ally and Shayne struck up a showmance and dated for two months after filming ended. “Poor Shayne,” Jeffrey said. “Allie and Shayne seemed pretty happy. And I remember when the show was over, I was like, ‘Good luck, and I can’t wait to see you on the reunion show and see what’s going on with the two of you.’ And got to two months later, and no, that’s not the case.”
Ally and Mack went public on July 17 with a series of social media posts. They explained how their romantic relationship came about after the show, and Mack gushed that she’s “so in love with the coolest, baddiest, sweetest, smartest, silliest, girly around.”
Ally revealed that Shayne is aware of her romance with Mack and has been “extremely supportive” of them. “We’re such good friends. I talk to him like every other day,” Ally said.
