Ian Somerhalder Reacts to Kylie Jenner’s Favorite ‘Vampire Diaries’ Brother
It’s the crossover we never knew we needed: The Vampire Diaries and The Kardashians.
Kylie Jenner is a vocal fan of the supernatural drama, which she started sharing her love for as far back as 2013. Over a decade later, the reality star is in the middle of a rewatch, which she’s been documenting on Instagram this summer. Jenner’s latest update caught the attention of TVD‘s own Ian Somerhalder.
The actor, who led the show for all eight seasons, screengrabbed Jenner’s Instagram Story. She’d posted a shot of her TV screen, which featured a shirtless Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). “Already halfway though season 3,” she captioned it.
Even though Damon isn’t Jenner’s favorite of the two vampire brothers — see the evidence that Jenner is a longtime member of the Stefan fan club here — Somerhalder doesn’t seem to be taking it personally. “Hey @kyliejenner I was team STEFAN too. What a sweetie [pie],” he wrote on August 3.
Somerhalder also took the chance to wish the beauty mogul a happy early birthday, which falls on August 10.
“P.S. When you’re done with TVD, watch this film @commongroundfilm,” the actor added, referring to the 2023 documentary that explores the potentially world-saving benefits of indigenous farming techniques. Somerhalder and a number of other celebrities appear. “It will give you so much hope,” he added.
Jenner may not ship Elena (Nina Dobrev) with Damon, but that didn’t stop her from reacting to Somerhalder’s message. A few hours later, she reposted it with the caption “damon !!!!”
Seeing her reply, the actor kept the interaction going. “That’s me! Keep kicking a** out there @kyliejenner!” he said.
Somerhalder isn’t the only one to comment on Jenner’s Team Stefan status. One fan put together a reel of clips from Wesley’s subscribers-only Close Friends Instagram Story. There, he’s chimed in about Jenner’s love for the series (and his character).
“Kylie Jenner knows what’s up,” the actor said in a past video. In another: “I like her very much. Very, very much, very much. Big fan.”
