Could Theresa Nist Be ‘The Golden Bachelorette’ Season 2 Lead? She Weighs In
With a new season of The Golden Bachelor around the corner, we’re already starting to think about The Golden Bachelorette. Joan Vassos was a perfect lead and found love again with Chock Chapple.
The marriage between Golden Bachelor Season 1 couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist didn’t work out, so would Nist be open to searching for love as The Golden Bachelorette Season 2 lead? Nist revealed whether or not she’s shut the door completely on returning to Bachelor Nation.
Even though Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 didn’t work out, Gerry Turner‘s ex-wife said she’s open to becoming the next Golden Bachelorette lead. Nist sat down with Trista Sutter on the Almost Famous OG podcast and admitted she’d “absolutely” be “interested” in looking for love again on The Golden Bachelorette. However, Nist said she’d do a few things differently than Vassos.
“I would be open to kissing a lot more and exploring it with each person and maybe being flirtatious and having a lot of fun,” Nist said. “I know that she held back, and maybe she was concerned about her family seeing her kiss someone. I’m really open to that, and I’m affectionate. I would like to see that and explore that. I would get such a kick out of it. It would be so much fun.”
ABC hasn’t renewed The Golden Bachelorette for a second season, but the Golden shows have become a huge hit for the network. The Golden Bachelor Season 2 will premiere this fall, with former NFL player Mel Owens searching for love again after divorce.
Nist told Sutter that she hopes The Golden Bachelorette gets renewed, and she’s ready to make her case to be the lead. “I’m throwing [my hat] in the ring,” she said.
The 72-year-old joined Bachelor Nation as one of the contestants of The Golden Bachelor. She fell in love with Turner, and they got engaged at the end of the season. The couple said “I do” just a few months later in a live TV wedding special. Just a few months after their January 2024 nuptials, Turner and Nist announced they were splitting up, mainly because they couldn’t settle on a place to live. (Neither one of them wanted to be separated from their families.)
Turner has since moved on with girlfriend Lana Sutton. Nist has casually dating someone she met on a dating app, but she’s taking things slow. “I’m keeping my options open,” Nist told Us Weekly. One of those options is The Golden Bachelorette!
